Who:Kurt and OPEN to anyone at the Hyperion.
What: A little bit of exploring.
When: July 6th, Thursday evening.
Where: The hyperion.
Warnings: TBA depends on who tags in?
status: in progress..

Kurt decided it was time to check out this Hyperion place Kitty told him about. Part of him thought maybe he shouldn't without permission from the right people, but the other was dying to see it. The suspense was killing him, curiosity killed the cat afterall. If it was dangerous, then he could teleport out in a snap. But that was the last thing on his mind when suddenly there was a distinct scent of sulfur and brimstone only those with enhanced powers could smell from the spare weapons room, and a clatter. He arrived mid air and landed ontop of several long weapons lined along the wall. The display fell along with him heavily to the ground, and Kurt winced. "Ah!"

"Really gotta work on those re-entries." He said in his heavy German accent as he sat up. Rubbing his back and looking around. What he hadn't heard was the cracking of the holo watch he landed on. "Oh no..Better get out of here." Kurt breathed as he looked at his mess in surprise and worry. A very unique BAMF! sound and Kurt was gone again. This time re-appearing with the same noise and scent in the lobby. With one little problem. His image inducer had malfunctioned on his rough landing. He was no longer in the form of a young curious high school bound boy, but a blue and fuzzy, pointy eared creature with three gloved fingers on each hand and a tail. Why on earth he expected this little visit to go smoothly was beyond him. "Aw man.." Black eyes searched frantically for someplace else to teleport. He needed to get out of sight before he scared someone away or got grounded for life, whichever came first.

Fred had decided to spend some time in the lobby, just in case anyone needed someone or something. It started out a quiet little evening, just her and the recipes she'd collected, writing them from the message boards on the notepad beside her. She smiled slightly, excited about the afternoon with Wesley that the recipes would bring. There would be a ton of cookies but she had plans to evenly distribute them all. What really mattered was the time spent making them.

The clatter in the spare weapons room caught her attention. She pushed her glasses up from where they'd slid down the bridge of her nose, reaching for the taser tucked away as the alarm system told her that someone had just entered the Hyperion. Frowning, she slid off the seat, holding the weapon behind her as she started for the room. But just as she left the desk, there was a sound behind her. She spun, her eyes growing wide as she took in the individual standing in the middle of the lobby.

"Hey!" she said, going for firm but unable to keep the slight nervousness out of her voice. "I mean, hi?" What if he was dangerous? "Who are you?"

Kurt jerked his head towards the sound of her voice. Gray eyes met hers in surprise. "I didn't do it!" He said out of pure reaction though it was pretty obvious he had with the guilt written on his face. His pointed tail swayed from side to side with obvious agitation. He pushed black hair from his face. He was still dressed in his x-men uniform. The only difference was he didn't look human in it now. It was just awkward. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare anyone." He said sheepishly. He knew that look on her face and the nerves in her voice. He grew up with people afraid of him. It was dishearting, but he was used to it.

Afterall it was his fault for just appearing out of nowhere. He did see the weapon and backed up. "I'm not going to hurt you, I'm Kurt. I was visiting Kitty. I'm a harmless blue fuzzball, really. "He gave her a charming toothy smile and held up his weaponless hands. He was no older than sixteen at the most. And clueless about what was really going on. He knew there was a war, that people were staying at the fancy hotel to help. But beyond the demons and good vs.evil he really didn't have a good scope of it. That didn't stop his curiosity.

At mention of Kitty, Fred's shoulders untensed and she gave him a stern look that an older sibling might give a younger one who had just gotten into something they shouldn't have. She'd seen her post on the boards. This was one of the good guys. Leaning over, she turned off the alarm and set the taser down on the counter. "Whenever someone says they didn't do it, they usually did," she said but found it hard to hide the beginning of a smile.

One of her best friends had been a green demon so his outward appearence wasn't so much the shock as his sudden appearence in the lobby. Once she'd gotten past that, he was just a kid. Stepping around the desk, she walked towards him, holding out her hand. "My name is Fred. I'm one of the researchers here," she said, her tone friendly. "And next time, you might wanna walk in the front door. The landing is less bumpy that way."

His brows furrowed in that thoughtful way. "No wonder I never won that argument.."His voice trailed off as he thought back to all the times he'd gotten into trouble and tried that excuse. "I always thought the professor was just being all clever and read my mind." Kurt said with a shrug. Then he paused and his lips curved into a smirk. There was that, and also the fact that Scott was often there to take the fall with him. But for now he supposed he'd leave that out incase Scott ever showed up. Apparently there was a chance of that.

He hoped he did. Scott was one of his best friends. Scott, Jean, Logan, Kitty, Ororo, and Spike. The seven of them were the heart of the x-men and made an amazing team. Something he missed. Scott was fun to hang out with. The two kept eachother light. Now he needed to find that balance here in another world. It was scary. Knowing he couldn't teleport back to the manor if he needed refuge. He was full of worry and nerves. It would die down once he got settled in, but for now he was on his guard until she approached with a friendly gesture and he reached out a hand. Only three fingers and shook hers. "Researchers? What is it you research?" The atmosphere was comfortable enough. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. "Yeah...and pointy." He said with a goofy face and laughed.

She looked like she was at a loss for words for a moment before shaking her head. "Nope, it's reverse psychology. If someone is quick to say they didn't do it, they either did it or they've been in trouble so many times that they're on automatic," she replied. "Although sometimes mind reading helps. But I can't do that so it's mostly just reverse psychology."

Fred shook his hand and laughed at the face he made. "That it is. I'm just glad you didn't get hurt." As she slid her hand out of his, she turned to walk back to the desk. "Mostly demonology." Remembering his blue fuzziness, she paused and turned back. "The bad ones that hurt people. The good ones we get along with and help each other."

Kurt didn't realize that the things he said about Xavier and the X academy were probably not going to be understood. Not yet anyway, he didn't grasp the situation to well. Once he did he'd explain things further. Xavier was a mutant who could read minds, and so Kurt always thought that was what happened. "Psychology, that makes sense. I never did well in that class." He grinned sheepishly. They had psychology as an elective one year, Scott had convinced him to take it together. Bad idea for Kurt. He did learn how to talk backwards, but that was about it.

"Me too. I'm usually better at teleporting where things aren't sharp and painful. But I don't quite know the layout of your hotel yet." He admitted as he blinked at the idea of demons. Did she think he was a demon? Probably...most people did at first glance and in a world full of them it wouldn't be such a big surprise..

"There are good demons?" he asked thoughtfully and tried to switch his holo watch. It crackled and fizzled with electricity but turned on. The fuzzyness disappeared and Kurt looked like a normal human boy. He wasn't very comfortable showing off his blue self just yet, but who knew how long before the holo-watch would force him. He needed to find Kitty.

"It's interesting to some people, boring to others," Fred stated neutrally. "It's fascinating because even though we have all these ways to explain how the brain works, we never really know for sure. But at least there's some understanding." She sat back down on the seat, chin resting on her hand.

"Are you going to stay here with Kitty? Or did you find somewhere else?" He looked a little young for the second option but if there was one thing she had learned, it was looks could be deceiving. Especially on blue elf looking types.

She sat up a little straighter, nodding. "Oh absolutely. One of my best friends was a demon. He owned a bar that had a sanctuary spell on it, no violence allowed. He loved to sing and he was quite fabulous." She grinned and ducked her head. "Sorry, a 'yes' probably would have done the trick, right? Yes, there are good demons, just as there are bad and neutral demons. They're a lot like people, only not human."

She blinked as suddenly she went from looking at blue to human. "What was that?"

He looked at her curiously. It wasn't that he wasn't interested it was that he literally didn't understand. "I am sorry. I don't really understand. But I'd like to learn. My English is..a little limited." Kurt admitted shyly, wishing he would have paid more attention in English class. It wasn't his first language though so more often than not he ended up spacing out and missing the entire lesson.

"I hope they will allow me to stay with her. I really don't know this city. We were teammates at home. X-men." Kurt being alone was just as much of a disaster as it sounded. The professor didn't even like leaving him alone in the mansion longer than half an hour at a time. He was naturally curious and curiosity in the mansion was a pure disaster.

"How can you tell the good ones from the bad?" He questioned as he toyed with the watch and looked up. "Professor Xavier made it for me so I Could go to school. It is a holo watch..it is for protection.." His voice trailed off as he looked away to the side. "Mutants are not accepted. We are hated and hunted..they think we are all a threat."

Oh! She'd noticed an accent but his English thus far had been pretty good, though she'd gotten so used to having so many people around with their own versions of it, anything was bound to sound normal. "It's very good," she replied reassuringly. "I wouldn't even guess that it is a second language for you!" Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "Your accent, is it German?"

Housing was Sarah's department and Kitty knew more about the situation than she did. At the mention of X-Men, she grinned. A few of her geeky fellows were going to be in comic heaven. "I don't think it should be too much of a problem. It's not my say but the woman who does is very nice. Do you have a way to contact Kitty to tell her you're here?"

Her expression softened and she stood again. "People like to explain away what they don't understand as a threat. Unfortunately, mutants fall into that category." She gathered up her papers, sliding them into the notebook. "The good ones help people, or at least they don't cause trouble. The bad ones are all for death, destruction, and chaos," she explained. "When it comes to humans, demons, and I think mutants too, we have the ability to choose how we want to treat the world and the people around us." She hesitated. "Well, some demons. Others aren't all that bright. But you get the idea."

Kurt found himself grinning at the compliment. Maybe he wasn't so bad off. Scott often complained that he couldn't understand, but maybe Scott was just trying to push him to improve. Or he had a weird sense of humor. Who knew. He made a mental note to ask him if he got the chance. "Ja. I am from Munich."

"She came to pick me up. But yes, my watch is also a communicator." He said lifting it slightly. It crackled in protest and his holo-form faded. "I guess I need her to make a few adjustments, I just hope she can fix it. Prof. didn't show me how." He frowned. It turned back on, but who knew how long it would really last.

"Everybody has a choice. We are just like people..Professor Xavier told me they are afraid of what they do not understand. But they aren't ready to try understanding. It is confusing.."

"That's neat. I speak a little German but most of it is to understand old texts. You wouldn't believe how many magic texts are written in it. Usually it's Latin or a demonic language." Once again that was probably a little too much information that the poor guy did not need to know.

Her gaze went from the object he had to his face when he went back to being blue and back to the device. "If she doesn't, I can take a look. I can't gaurantee I can do much with it but it never hurts to have backup, right?" There was so much technology coming into the city now that was over her head yet a curiosity all the same.

"Of course. That's what I meant." She leaned forward on the counter. "Some don't, but others do. The ones that aren't so narrow minded."
