Who: The JLA and co. (Terry, Virgil, Bruce,Bart, Roy &Lian, and Clark. No posting order. xD GO.)
What: Zoo trip! Hey everyone needs a break from fighting wars.
Where: Bradbury meetup then the L.A. county Zoo.
Warnings:insanity inside. That's what you get for taking two hyperactive super powered kids to the zoo who just wanna pet things.
STATUS: in progress..
OOC: because this is such a mass thread if you've got more than one pup going, just post all of them under one account per post. It'll be easier.

Terry was dreading this. Why did they get sucked into going along? Why did he have to open his big mouth about theme parks. Talk about instant karma for his earlier mocking. As long as he didn't have to go to Disneyland he supposed. The zoo had to be better. It was probably mean to hope that they got banned and weren't allowed to go with Roy, but anything to cut time at the amusement park hell in half was a good thing in his eyes. He really wasn't in the mood to go, but he knew Bart would insist until he couldn't handle it anymore. Terry was starting to think that Bart's special power really wasn't speed, but talking people to death. He saw no way out.

He was ready to go and wanting to get it over with, waiting outside on the steps that lead up to the Bradbury building. It was helping him however he felt a little better being outside. He'd been quiet since the murder in the caves, uneasy, high strung. Maybe a little break would be good even if it did involve a handful of bratty kids and smelly animals. Bart almost made it sound interesting until he realized the handful of people that were going. Lots of people, and suddenly it didn't seem like a good idea at all. The thought of being in crowds these days was a terrifying thing for him. He'd never been claustrophobic before, and it wasn't getting better. Only worse with time he spent trying to think like Batman and push the incident to the back of his mind and not deal. Terry changed the subject whenever it came up, and was still refusing sleep. At least since his rush with street racing he'd stayed inside.

Virgil on the other hand was excited. He had money to spend and animals to pet. Or rather watch Bart pet. Then pet and act innocent later. He'd been to the zoo with his pops and sister once when he was little, but he didn't really remember it so it didn't count. He had a blue backpack on with his Static gear inside. Just incase. Old habits were hard to break, he used to carry it everywhere in Dakota. It was hard not to with bang babies everywhere. This city had troubles of it's own, vampires and demons. Who knew what they'd run into. "Hey, ready to go?" He called up the stairs to Bart. " C'mon I wanna get there before all the animals fall asleep!" He mocked teasingly at Bart's room door. Virgil needed this trip, he'd been getting a little depressed watching Roy playing with Lian all the time. Missed his own family. This trip would sorta be like going out with a family again.

"Sometime in this century!" Bart was fun to tease. Actually had a sense of humor. Clark didn't seem to like it so sometimes he felt a little bad-it didn't stop him naturally, but he felt bad afterwards. That made it okay right?

"Daddy! Daddy! Hurry up! It's time to go!"

Lian was pulling her father by the hand, attempting to lead him out of the Bradbury building's lobby at greater speed. "The animals will wait for us, Princess, I promise," he assured the little girl.

"Are you coming too?" she asked Terry, looking up at him excitedly.

Bruce was perhaps as unexcited about the trip as Terry was. Fun, happy places with lots of animals and uncontrollable children who should have been on short leashes were not his thing and the more he thought about it, the more he dreaded it. Los Angeles was hot and the sun was too bright. The Cave looked so much more inviting as the minutes ticked away, leading to the moment when he knew he’d have to leave it and prepare himself for animals and kids and parents failing to keep said kids behaved and in line.

The crowds would be a turn off for him, but it would be worse for Terry, who hadn’t been quite the same since what had occurred in the Caves not long enough ago. It might do the kid well to get out for once, with other people and not just him. Teenagers were supposed to mingle and want to do things and Bruce was set on pushing Terry and making him go. Not wanting it to look like he was trying to throw him out, he unwillingly stood on the steps where Terry sat, trying his hardest not to glare at the ground.

Bart wanted to pet something. He wanted to pet something and he was positive that he was going to do it and not get kicked out. His urge to put his hand through the bars was naturally blamed on Virgil, who had brought it up and put the idea in his head. Getting far enough away from Clark could be achieved easily enough and moving fast enough to do what needed to be done without anyone seeing him do it was child’s play. He was sure he’d be able to do it so that Virgil could see and not accuse him of backing out.

“You can’t rush me, Virgil.” Two teenagers yelling up and down the stairs at each other? Normal where they were. Bart grabbed the red backpack from his bed and was right where Virgil was in a fraction of a second. “I was only up there for like… two minutes.” Hardly a century. But maybe it was a little longer than two minutes. Ten was more like it.

Roy was regretting not asking Zinda to come with them- perhaps bribing her with beer, or something- just to have another adult on hand to help keep an eye on the younger ones. But he'd been having her watch Lian so often lately that he figured she deserved the day off.

Lian was getting impatient, in the way that children her age were prone to. "Are we leaving yet?" she asked Roy- and the others-, tapping her foot for extra emphasis.

"Daddy's just checking to make sure he's got everything, Lian," said Roy, setting down the backpack he had full of supplies for a day out with a five year old- a soft cooler full of juice boxes, some fruit snacks, sunscreen, first aid kit, and a handful of pens in the event that he'd need some sort of thrown weapon in an emergency. After being satisfied that he'd remembered everything, he zipped it closed and slung it over his shoulder.

"Okay. Who's coming in my car, then?" he asked the group, digging his keys out of his pocket while putting a hat on Lian's head- sun protection was a must!

"Do we have to do this?" He frowned as he looked up at Bruce. He used to like to go out. Be with people and have a social life. But lately all he wanted to do was be in the cave alone. Not deal with things in his own way. For him it was also a security thing, making sure that Bat was still gone. That he hadn't somehow risen up from the depths of the cave and zombie'd his way inside the manor. He did it every night and every morning. It was almost getting to the point of borderline paranoia.

Then Lian was beside him pulling Roy in toe and he smirked, trying to be nice for the kid. "Yeah. Guess I am." She obviously wanted them there. Even if he was kinda hating it. Especially when he started hearing the two inside shouting to eachother. "Haven't they ever heard of a comm link?" He rolled his eyes and looked back at Roy's bag. "What'd you pack, an arsenal?" noticing the size of the bag, and glanced over his shoulder at the keys. "...We could always race there. Can your car really fit all of us anyway Roy?"

Virgil smirked. "I can when you start to take longer than Sharon does in the morning. " He ran for the door not giving Bart any kind of warning or heads up. If he did it just wouldn't be fair. There was no way he'd stand a chance beating him to the car that way. "Shotgun."

"We'll probably have to take two cars, yeah," said Roy- he wasn't exactly a minivan kinda guy. The only reason Lian could fit comfortably in his backseat was because she was so tiny. Anyone else would have some legroom issues. But damn it if the car wasn't really, really awesome.

"Touch the radio stations, and you walk to the zoo," Roy called after Virgil when he ran outside. Lian looked up at Roy, "he knows the doors are locked, right?" Roy chuckled. "He'll just have to find that out."

"Or some of us can fly there," a new voice spoke up suddenly. It was Clark. He had not been there a second ago, but here he was now. He had been in his room and asked if Chris wanted to go with him to the zoo.

"If there isn't enough room in the cars.. well, maybe I can run or fly, and meet you there." He glanced around, hoping that the younger boy had been close behind him...

“Afraid so.” They were too far along to get out of it and Terry couldn’t stay locked up in the Cave forever. Besides, there was no way it could turn out to be as bad as they were making it out to be. Nobody was going to forcefully throw him into the petting zoo or demand that he stand in enthralled amazement in front of the tiger exhibit.

Bruce gave a small smile to Lian and prayed that the two yelling at each other inside would go with Roy and not give his car a second glance. “We’re not racing anywhere, so don’t even think about it.” Somebody had to be the responsible adult who prohibited Terry’s exciting but dangerous activities. He dangled the keys in front of the kid for him to grab. The least he could do. “You can drive if you promise not to get us pulled over.”

“I don’t take anywhere as long as a girl. If you want to see me taking a long time I can give you that experience and…” And Virgil was taking off for the car and Bart stood there saying nothing, staring at an empty space and then standing where Virgil was headed. No warning for him either. Fair.

Chris followed Clark and stood close behind him, quiet but eager to see something that he’d never gotten to experience before. “I wanna run if you run,” he said, straining up to grab at Clark’s arm, in a way that only children tended to do.

"Yeah yeah." Terry trailed off and watched the temporary insanity of the group getting to the cars." pulled over, whatever, got it. Lets go." He said only half listening once the precious keys were willingly dangled at him. The teen tried to maintain some dignity, but it was a rare chance when there wasn't an argument over who drove before getting into a car. Terry snatched them up and helped himself to the drivers side. Climbing in and instantly slipping in a loud CD of some kind of heavy metal. "You coming?" He said with a raised eyebrow as he pushed open the passenger side door.

Terry winced a little at the mention of the lack of racing..at least Bruce didn't tell the others how badly he'd been grounded because of his last brush with the illegal sport. Being dragged home by Kal had been embarrassing enough.

Virgil was already half way down to the car when Bart started giving examples. He would beat him. Just once. That was all he asked. Without cheating. He could easily magnetize the floor but where would the fun be in that? Virgil was headed down towards Bruce's car, it looked bigger than Roys. If Terry was driving it could be fun to watch. No dad was calm when their kids were starting to drive. Something told him it would be far more entertaining. "Hurry up Bart, don't wanna be left behind!" He mocked over his shoulder as he reached out for the car door.

Roy and Lian were actually the last to arrive at Roy's car- but they'd still be the first ones in, seeing as how Roy had the keys.

He pushed the button on the keychain to unlock them, and got Lian buckled in to the backseat. "Okay, whoever's riding with me, let's get going," he said, sliding in to the driver's side. Lian, helpfully, reminded the passengers (and her father) to buckle up.

And once everyone was in, he pulled out, silently praying that he wouldn't soon find himself banned from the LA Zoo.

Clark looked down at Chris with a smile, reaching his hand out to him. "Okay.. running it is, then. But I'm curious. Just how fast can you run? Faster than light?"
