Wesley was naturally annoyed at being pulled from his 'real' life. But this feeling was negated at the moment, by the fact that he got to see Fred. And hearing that Knox wasn't in this reality made him feel good, too. Even if it stung a tiny bit to hear that Fred had been feeling affectionate towards him. But, that was literally not here, only there. A 'there' he might never see again, for all he knew.
Accepting the fact that most of the other faces here that he knew were ones he wasn't eager to engage, and that the people he did want here were either dead or gone...that was going to take some getting used to. He didn't mind the people from Sunnydale...well, he liked to not keep them in his mind much at all. His life there hadn't been good. They knew the old him. The problem being that he didn't like who he'd been back then, such a slave to his father's Watcher attitude. So strict. Such a ponce. It made him feel ruffled to even think about it.
But life in L.A. was another thing all together. Life in L.A. (usually) had his friends. And he was good at what he did. He excelled in research and magicks. He used them to help people in a very real way. He could only hope he would be lucky enough to continue to do so here.
Having come to the conclusion that the library was no place for a sit-and-chat, Wes had relocated to the outside front steps of the establishment. Sitting there, he was on the lookout for any petite brunettes that were in the area. Of course, only one of them mattered to him.
