This was insane. What was he even doing out? He was in no condition to be patrolling. He couldn't even breathe without being in pain. He couldn't think without being distracted. He had a league to stop. He needed help. But when it came down to it how could he ask Roy or Victor? This was his team, his family, weather he openly declared it or not, they were and he'd do anything for them. The night was chilly for mid June, and a light rain was falling from the sky.

He knew he should be doing less internal complaining, and more patrolling-but he was worried. What if they never came back? What if they never were themselves again and he couldn't do anything to stop them from hurting innocent bystanders. This was his city, and he'd be damned if he let them do anymore damage than they already had. Nightwing stood on a ledge over looking the city, sitting with a foot dangling mid air and his arm on his knee that was pulled to his chest when he heard sirens down below.

Two thugs running in the opposite direction. One with a gun. That never ended well. Terry sighed and shook his head trying to get some of the water out of his hair. The police wouldn't make it in time. They never did. He ran a hand through his wet black hair and made a face. He hoped it would dry up a little before he got back to Roy's. He already knew it was an inconvenience. Roy had Lian, Terry tried to make himself as incognito as he could. But with a hyper active little girl he could only stay out of the lime light so long. The little girl nearly caught him even tonight sneaking out the window. He hadn't been expecting her to wake up in the middle of the night. He tried to play it off like it had just been a dream-fortunately she groggily agreed and went back to bed pretty easily.

But this? Wasn't a dream. This city was turning into a nightmare. It took him some time before to adjust, but he had Bruce's help, Oracle's too. Now he didn't have either. He felt more alone than ever and he hated it. Bruce didn't know him...His father didn't know him. Still he couldn't just give up could he? Bruce Wayne wouldn't. Though admittedly the thought had crossed his mind.

Terry swung down from the rooftop on a grappling hook and landed on the hood of a dark car the robbers were trying to force a woman out of. "Miss the cab, guys?" They were startled, and shouted. "Freak!" Terry reached in the window and made a grab for the gun, it shot off, the woman screamed, and he barely dodged in time.

Guns, guns were incredibly incredibly lame and Harmony wanted nothing to do with them, which is why she was fully intending to walk past the cab the robbers were trying to steal, or mug the woman from, or whatever they were doing.

It wasn't like she was supposed to care being evil and all. It was all part of the being a vampire, and much as newbie vamps were on a downturn in LA combined with their own stupid and vigilante justice like the boy on a rope that had just swung down, Harmony wasn't new, not really, and much as she knew she wasn't entirely booksmart or anything, she was in no way stupid.

Which was why she held back a good distance, he'd be one of those stake wielding idiot vigilante hero blow ins.

And she didn't want to have to kill him, Buffy would get cross and stake her, and then Spike would have to kill her in revenge and it would just get messy, never mind what her fans would do.

So she leaned against a car, fully human looking even though she was way known as the super amazing Harmony Kendall and watched the proceedings

The hood barely dented as his feet landed there, he was taught and trained by the best to be light on his feet. Still even he was a little surprised. Terry had been off his game since Kal broke his ribs, he hadn't even been sure he was going to be able to make that jump but he did and it gave him a little more hope. Maybe not everything would go as horribly forever. For a while he thought there would be no end to this "evil twins" thing, and didn't know how to cope. Changing into costume was a good way to do it. Improved his spirits.

There had to be a way to get through to the others, or send them back to where they came from. He wanted his team back. As much as they irritated and annoyed him, he'd gotten used to having them around. It surprised him. He didn't realize how much he needed them, had come to rely on them in there own way.

Nightwing managed to easily the gun from the first man's hand who swore and scowled at him and tried to fight through the window. The gun was thrown away, skidded to a stop near Harmony's feet. Nightwing brought the edge of his gloved hand down on the struggling robbers neck. His head fell heavily against the steering wheel and his partner struggled to open the door and fled. "Stay behind me." Terry advised the young woman who was shaking with fear as he yanked open the door and pulled her firmly out, shutting the door with one of the men trapped inside. Window down. He snatched a stake from his glove and thrust it into the first robber's heart. Dusted and gone. The woman stared in shock. Nightwing paid her no mind.

"I don't think so." The kid said as he spotted the other robber trying to run and tugged out a red and black batterang (which clashed with his black and blue theme, but was so much more affective than basic black verity..) and threw it. His aim was impeccable and as soon as the batterang touched the fleeing robber's shoulder, a metal rope snaked out of it and wrapped around his arms and legs. He fell harshly to the sidewalk and Terry left the woman by the car for a minute while he took care of the other. Dust. He was getting better at telling these vampires from humans, even when they posed as typical bank robbers. Still he wished that he had slayer strength and that extra sense, it would make this so much easier.

Terry heard tires screech behind him. He barely had time to duck to the side of the cab, the woman had taken off. "....You're welcome." He sighed as he dusted his hands off and touched his chest, it burned..he could taste blood in the back of his throat. His wounds had re-opened and his teeth clenched together to try and fight a sound of pain. It passed, and he straightened. That's when he spotted the blond girl and looked confused.

"Your out pretty late."

Harmony laughed at the comment about being late, she was mostly busy watching the vampires, Lame. Probably newer even than her, no vamps worth a damn would steal a car. That was just tacky.

"Uh yeah. Walking around during the day would explode me" she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world "And I like being not-dust."

Who was this kid?

"You should probably go to the hospital with that, you smell of blood, and most vampires would have such a field day with you right now its not even funny. Luckily I'm strictly animal only."

She could offer to bring him to the hospital or something, but she didn't really care beyond getting that smell away from her, it was cruel. Briefly she wondered if Buffy counted it if they were already bleeding right next to her and made a mental note to ask the Slayer. It made sense to her, but then Slayers were weird. She would ask rather than risk the being staked.

"How did you know by the way? What they were, they vamp faced didn't they" she said amused "Total rookie mistake. You never do that unless you have to. Its such a 'here I am, come stake me' thing to do"

Alright maybe he wasn't as expert at telling vampires from humans as he thought. Harmony apparently was a vampire-the way she described her dilemma was easy enough to guess. In his defense, she was hot. He hadn't met a vampire like that before. The ones he met were all bumpy faced and fangy. She on the other hand..

Terry tried not to be too distracted. She was still a vampire-and he was injured. If he was caught off guard now it could be the end. If this city taught him anything it was that being paranoid wasn't always a bad thing. "Broken ribs, they can't do anything." He gave her a tiny smile before he added. "Besides..All they're gonna want to do is give me drugs and I can't afford to be burnt out right now." He really couldn't. What with Kal on the lose and Impulse still to deal with.

"Yeah. I've been watching them for a while. One of them tried to bite the hostage."

He closed some of the distance between them. "After what you just told me, I'm sure you can take care of yourself..but if there is somewhere you need to be, I'd feel better if you let me get you there safely. "

Harmony normally would have been pleased at the offer, but this guy, he was just being cruel, Really cruel.

"Um...thanks and all, but you smell of blood, Like, really, you're bleeding right in front of me and if I hadn't gone animal only I would so have attacked you by now. But following me home or whatever? Thats just sort of cruel. I'm trying you know, and its so entirely not easy to deal with, not drinking right from the veins. Just tastes sooo good, and yours, well its right out there"

Besides she was badass, and at night. Like she needed help.

"So, be all, stoic and pretend badass? Or you go to the hospital and get yourself looked at. But I don't want to bite you, or...well I do, but I can't so. Thanks but no thanks?"

"Oh..right, sorry." The expression on his face a little sheepish. Hey, he never claimed to be an expert on all things vampire. Vamps were slayer territory. He knew how to kill them off, but how to deal with one that was as she put it "animals only" was different. "I've never met one like you." Terry should have listened to Harmony's advice. Because the more he stood there, the more pain he felt. Damn. He thought he made that last jump successfully, but he must have dislodged something instead because it was getting harder to breathe.

"Maybe your right." Terry blinked his eyes a few times trying to clear them of the fuzzy blur that distorted his vision. He pulled out his phone, and sent a text to Roy. going to the hospital, don't wait up. And dropped the phone. He didn't realize how hard Kal had really thrown him. How much his attempt to move normally had ruined him the past couple days. He didn't think it was such a big deal, because honestly what could a doctor do..

"Painkillers don't sound half bad." He mused and looked up at her. "Know where the nearest one is?"

Harmony folded her arms irritated, the guy had hit a nerve with the way he was talking. He really had. She was SICK of the Slayers, and the people learning to kill vampires, and the people that thought they could pass judgement

"Nope, you just attack them cause what, you think the Slayers need the help. Because being a lone warrior all glowery is cool? You never check do you, who they are, what they're doing, why? Vampires are people too y'know. Tell me, would you have killed them if they were human. If they were stealing that car and they were human? Would you have shoved a bit of wood through their hearts same as you did them? No. Its totally speciest"

She watched as he dropped the phone, most people probably would have asked if he was okay. Harmony didn't entirely care.

"Um, like...3 blocks from here. You dropped your phone." she told him, being helpful and all as she was.

Terry honestly didn't think before he said what he did, he didn't realize it could be offensive and he looked at her in slight confusion. "They were criminals. Armed and a thief.. They had to be stopped." No mystery there the real mystery was her reaction. "I watched them for blocks before I moved in." Women. Vampire or human Terry would never understand them. Pushing some black hair from his face in slight frustration he carefully bent down with a grimace to pick up the phone.

The screen was a little cracked. He sighed...now he'd need a new one and no Bruce Wayne to finance it. No job to replace it. Maybe Roy would give him a loan. He didn't exactly have a job or his own money to replace it. "No..your right, I wouldn't. But what would you have me do, put them in prison with humans and let there be a blood bath?"

"Three blocks.."That sounded like a long way with his body searing the way it was.

Ugh, she hated people like that.

"There could be vampire jail, like the Government couldn't do it if they wanted. Or y'know what. Let someone like AI fund it since they're so all about the law. I'm serious, I said it on my show last week. Its one law for the living and one for the dead. It totally sucks!. And who are you to decide who's good and bad anyway, thats what the cops, are for, and for us I guess its mystically meant to be the Slayers and whatever, who are you that has the right to stake perfectly...okay, scumbag newbies but still. They probably still would have robbed that car if they were human but noooo they were dead so killing them again is fine right? Ending their existance so completely there's not even anything to bury! Thats just...thats murder as much as anything we do."

She shook her blonde hair out and looked over at the guy, still entirely indignant.

"Then get a cab. Or does thinking you have rights over people like me not pay well!"

It was a combination of annoyance at the guy, the smell of his blood, and well, the fact that she didn't have a soul which made Harmony entirely unwilling to help the guy.
