Damien's eyes slowly opened as he felt the morning hours come upon him. He noticed he was only in the usual silk boxers that were green. Glancing at the clock, he realized that he should probably get ready for the day. Shower, clean up, a good breakfast. He yawned, turning on his side.. and his eyes widened as he noticed he wasn't alone. There was a young blond man resting a couple feet next to him, dressed in the same manner, and appeared to still be in a deep sleep. It wasn't anyone he had seen before. He didn't recall drinking the night before. Not that alcohol could affect him anyway without his knowledge.
He sighed, sitting up. Maybe it was one of the friends he met at the party from work last week. That was a blast. It really was. Regardless, he needed to get ready. "Huh, maybe he's already there." He reached for his cellphone that was beside him, finding it after searching under the blanket, then punched in the number for Thorn Industries. "Hello... yes, it's Damien. What do you mean, you thought I'd be calling later? Nevermind. Listen, can you patch me in to the main office, see if Mark is around?"
It was a few minutes before he spoke again. "Hey, Mark! It's me. Damien? Wait, what's wrong with your voice?" A pause. "No, relax, it's okay." Pause. "Mark Thorn, you're not making sen.. wait.. huh, what? Your last name is Petersen? Okay." He let out a frustrated sigh. "Well, I need Thorn. My cousin, you know? What do you mean? Of course he works there, same as I do? What.. wait, stop a second. Wait! You must be confused. There's no record of him being there? Well, why not? Come on." Another sigh, after he listened. "Alright. Sorry. Bye, Marcus."
Damien sighed as he hung up on the line, laying his head back down on the pillow with a flop. He shook his head as he tried to come up with a reason about what was going on, along with why he felt a bit out of sorts. He was almost sure that his cousin would be at the office by now. Marky often arose much earlier than him. He always did, even when they were younger, when Richard was still alive. And the man seemed a bit nervous when the antichrist's tone had gotten anxious. Really, there was no reason for that, he was usually a nice guy. And then there was the mystery of who the guest in his room was. Someone he didn't know at all. He also noticed a computer beside the door. Maybe he could try using it to find answers at some point. "Oh fuck," he muttered with a groan, "I think I need another vacation...."
