One thing Anya Jenkins was known for was being creative. Not just in bed with Xander, though that was incredibly fun. But also in terms of magic. It was how she had gotten the job after all, all those centuries ago. Balancing and combining multiple spells to create something new. It had impressed D'Hoffryn back in the day and it had allowed her to adapt more easily to this new LA, with different types of magic joining all the time. Plus it was practical. Bad guys may be used to one form, but combining different styles into something never seen in any universe made for easier bad guy fighting.
And they did do bad guy fighting here, better than just about anyone regardless of what Mr Racist Winchester thought. Anya's lip curled with disgust at the thought of him. She hoped he was being controlled somehow, even if it was by someone she'd once considered a friend. Because she feared LA would suffer quite badly if the formerly Rogue Slayer was being cheated on. Even so, she might discreetly leave the talisman for calling her old friends to LA if Faith needed it. As much as she didn't like the brunette, no woman should be treated like that.
Which just left the question how do you solve a problem like Ruby? Anya scowled, angry that someone she'd liked had turned out to be like that. There was clearly some sort of bizarre hero worship going on there, which was frankly pathetic. And anti-feminist.
The former vengeance demon shook her head and reached for another book. Getting past the hex bags would be a potential issue, plus any shields Ruby herself had cast. But she was confident that they could do it. Eventually.
