What they'd lived had been exciting. That he couldn't deny. The constant danger of being found out, the penalty for screwing with the Senior Partners and their new golden boy, Angel. But he'd never thought it out long term. His mind had been on their plans, never going farther than the step they were taking. His full focus.
He quietly accepted the cup of coffee, holding it in his hands as he waited for it to cool enough to take a drink without killing his taste buds for the day. "I never thought that far," he admitted, echoing his thoughts.
He couldn't help the slightly angry cast that crept across his features. "That'd be the deal," he muttered. "Hellbound or not, they're going to have a fight on their hands if they expect me to be their bitch." He'd claw his way out of Hell if he had to. And if anyone could pull that off, it would be him.
"And that's all that matters, isn't it? Getting the job done." He took a sip of the coffee and set the mug down. "Must be something big is coming up if they're getting all their affairs lined up like chickens on a stick, filling in the gaps."
