Elle was bored. It wasn't really Sylar's fault, it wasn't hers either, but for so much of her life she was sheltered. She spent sixteen years in one place, sure she could go out sometimes, but it wasn't the same as being free. It was not until she'd come here that she'd gotten a taste of true freedom, and it was something she really wanted to get back to.
She rolled her eyes, not believing his words. Or maybe she really did have paranoid delusions. She just didn't buy that he'd be nice to her all of a sudden, especially after what she did to him. She still didn't think there wouldn't be consequences for that.
"The city is in chaos." She commented. "She's a do-gooder, so naturally she'll probably be helping someone." She rolled her eyes again, though she'd technically saved three lives by blasting Sylar, that had never been her intention. She wanted to please Daddy, that was all that had been about. She wanted to make Bob not see her as a failure anymore, and she did that by going after Sylar. And then of course she was here.
But it hadn't taken Elle too long to realize that her father saw her as a weapon and not as a person. And if what Noah Bennet said was true...Elle might not be so messed up now if it weren't for what her father had done to her. She had thought Noah was lying, because she couldn't remember...but that didn't mean it didn't happen. It made her angry to think about that, and all she had lost from following her father.
The greatest of all that had been Matt. He'd just been a poor kid, and Elle had really liked him, but of course he had to be used in some Company plot, and the worst thing was that she had a hand in it. She could have freed him or something. People were not supposed to be caged, and this was a lesson she'd since learned. Still, she'd never forget standing there by Matt's body, shaking with grief and anger at her father.
And now she was faced with another control issue, but this time it was Sylar and not her father. And this time the intended victim was Claire Bennet. Now, Elle did not really like the cheerleader, especially since her father told Elle she might be taking orders from her someday, but she wasn't sure she was heartless enough to watch Sylar kill her. She supposed though, that they would cross the bridge when they came to it.
Thinking about Matt and everything again brought emotions to the surface, emotions that the usually perky little sociopath denied having. Denial however could not stop the single teardrop that fell from her eyes onto her black pants. Just one tear. One tear for Matt and all the other people she'd hurt because of the Company. It was weird though, she didn't feel anything for the guy Ricky that she'd killed back in Ireland. He'd just been some guy, but then sociopaths couldn't really distinguish between right and wrong could they? So why was she hurting so deeply now?
