WHEN: backdated a couple of days to his Graffiti post
WHERE: the Lux
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In progress

It was possibly a strange career move, from sports player to freedom fighter to barman. And now bar owner. Sam wasn't sure exactly what had happened to both of the previous owners, the ones that had elicited some pretty strange reactions from some of the people around the city. He'd never understood it himself, all he knew is the day he returned to work after a week off, almost entirely in bed with Mirta, there were papers left on the bar, addressed to both himself and his Mandalorian girlfriend. As the longest running employees of the club, it had been left to them.

Bet even the Lords of Kobol didn't see this one coming he thought wryly, offering up a silent thank you to his Gods. Cylon or not, he still remembered being raised the Picon way, following the prophecies of Pythia and the Lords of Kobol. Even if he'd never been as devout as some, old habits were hard to shake.

He glanced around the club with a small smile. A strange career move, but definitely one that made him happy. He felt more at home here than he ever had on Galactica, with Kara and the war. And a large part of that was because of Mirta. The small smile became a grin as he checked the beer lines and the vodka supplies, ready to serve any drinks.

Its FREE?!? - Sam/Mirta Pre Opening

"Free"

She'd repeated the word several times as she walked around the private areas of the club making sure they were secure, and it didn't fit any easier on her tongue repeated either. In fact she might have hated it more.

"Free night" she tried.

Nope, Not working. It just went against her instinct. But of course there was Sam and his convincing.

It annoyed her and charmed her all at once. Plus it didn't hurt that he looked amazing behind the bar. As usual.

"All set for the...y'know" she told him with a raised eyebrow. "Should I go ahead and let the invading hordes wanting free things in?"

Sam had let her rant, watching her with more amusement than anything else, which probably actually encouraged the ranting. But he couldn't help it, she was gorgeous when she was like this.

"Yes, free," he leaned over the bar and reached to brush some hair back from her face, kissing her softly. "They come for the free drinks, find out how awesome this place is and come back. With the money. Lots of money and we make more than enough profit to cover the one night of it being free."

He grinned cheekily, knowing he'd already convinced her, even if she was still ranting.

"See, it's good business in the long run."

She hopped onto a chair, leaning across to return the kiss, while he was being amused at her, she sulked at that. A lot. But he was good with the kissing which she personally felt made up for it.

"No, Good business would be charging them normal, then getting them drunk and putting up the price. It'd be horribly immoral and everything but you tell me drunk people never just handed you a note that turned out to be a fifty and hoped for the best."

"One night ramikad. Just one"

She nodded toward the door. "Now, or in... say, five minutes, fashionably late and all

Sam just watched her, one eyebrow arched as he looked at her.

"I am not admitting any kind of scamming customers. At least before I was the boss." He feigned an innocent look. "Tell you what, we can do the putting up of prices soon, ok?"

He held up his hands in surrender, still grinning as he agreed to the one night only. He didn't think he'd survive suggesting another night of free drinks anyway.

"Five minutes huh?" He smirked and gave her a suggestive look. "We'd need more than five and then we'd never get this place open."

Spoilsport. But he was right, if they delayed five minutes they'd delay an hour. Less free drinks that way though.

"Alright fine" she finally gave in and after another exceptionally drawn out kiss across the bar Mirta jumped back to ground level and walked toward the door giving the place a look over with a critical eye eyes meeting those of the other staff spread around the place before landing back at Sam.

"We're perhaps completely dinii, but here goes"

She pushed open the door.

The way she kissed him made him tempted to go with the delaying an hour route, but it probably wouldn't be the best business plan to start with that kind of attitude.

"Completely dinii," he agreed, using the Mando term without even noticing, as he often did these days.

He took a final glance around himself as she opened the door, ready to serve the public. They could do this.

Pausing just inside the door, Claire looked around the bar floor of the Lux with a trace of reservedness before seeming to relax. She'd been in the Lux once, with Peter, for lunch, so she knew the general set up of the building, but that wasn't the reason for her momentary demeanor. She'd certainly believed Sam that the former owners, which included Lucifer himself, were gone, but there was a small part of her that still had to shake off the association. Granted, she had far less reasons for not wanting to be near the Devil himself, but there had been some there just the same.

But now it wasn't the case, as he was gone, her friends owned the place and tonight they were serving free drinks, which Claire could only imagine was still making Mirta very cranky. Mandalorians didn't do anything for free, save, as she'd come to learn, important personal favors, so she imagined Mirta was liking calculating just how much money they were losing tonight.

But she wasn't really here for the free drinks, she was here to see Sam and Mirta. Checking her watch a little impatiently, but knowing it would be awhile before Dean finished up the hunt he was working with John, she continued to search until she spotted Sam and then made her way across the bar to see him.

"So, does the owner get to take a half hour off to hang out with a friend?" she asked with a grin.

Sam grinned easily as he saw Claire appear, glad she'd been able to make it. The previous owners had made her uncomfortable, that much he'd been able to guess. So it was a relief that under the new management that was him and his girlfriend people weren't still freaked out.

"I'm sure I can take half an hour for you," he turned and gestured for one of the other barmen (he should really learn their names since he was going to be paying them now) to cover him before he shifted to one side, grabbing a couple of glasses.

"You just let me know what I can get you and then I'm all yours," he grinned at Claire. "And then we're talking about how you've ended up with the pie guy and if I need to do any threats of ass kickings."

Giving it a few seconds consideration, Claire answered. "A Long Island," she said with a nod, leaning against the bar. "A big one." After all, it was a free drink, might as well make it one she really liked and one she'd be able to have and still hold an actual conversation.

"As for Dean, he'll be here after work so you can do the whole protective threatening thing. I get how that's really fun for guys, all that macho posturing and stuff."

At this point, she guessed Dean would be able to call himself an expert at dealing with people drilling him to make sure he was whatever the expected him to be now, but he had taken it well so she hadn't told anyone to dial it down. In truth, despite Claire still firmly feeling that the only opinions that mattered in the end were his and hers, it was both nice to see that even with losing people, there were still more than a few here who cared enough to do it, and that none of it was scaring Dean off. Not that he was easily scared, but there was a difference between killing demons and dealing with overprotective family and friends.

"A Long Island," Sam nodded with a grin, mixing up the drink for her. It was strange, but only a few months ago he'd had no clue how to make even the most basic Earth cocktail, but now they came like a second nature to him. He mixed up a couple, one for her and one for him. Since it was his alcohol now, he might as well enjoy it and as cocktails went it was one of the less girly ones.

"Hey, this is nothing to do with macho posturing," he protested with a half smirk as he handed her the glass and began to move them over to one side to one of the empty booths. "This is just making sure you're not about to get hurt any time soon. I mean the guy has good taste, in pie and women, I just want to be sure he fully appreciates it."

"It is totally male posturing," Claire said, eyes rolling briefly in amusement before she slid into the booth. Curling her hands around the glass, she focused on Sam rather than the drink.

"Believe me, he appreciates it," she said, grinning a bit. She might like to tease Dean about him being lucky to have her, but it was mutual and she was lucky to have him too. "Even the stupid things he's done before, like his attempt at online matchmaking, he did because he didn't want me hurt. He was a complete ass about it, but his heart was in the right place."

It didn't mean she hadn't, at the time, yelled at or smacked him for the dating thing or the closet fiasco, but now she could put it into perspective. "We've just been through a lot together. I've been through more with him than anyone else in my life, all the things that happened in my timeline, it happened to me while I was mostly alone. So I guess that's how 'us' happened. We understand each other, and even though our lives were totally different, there are a lot of similarities. The stuff that made us best friends, it's the same stuff that's there now."

giving the drink a quick stir, she drank a bit and then smiled wider. "I mean, look at you and Mirta. You're from two very different places, but there are the similarities there that hold you together, help you understand each other."

"Ok, maybe it's a bit of male posturing," Sam conceded with a faint smile as he took a sip of the drink.

At her grin he flashed one of his own, glad to hear Winchester was at least treating her ok. "Fine, but the next time he tries anything like that again, I'm not above smacking him one." He was joking, well mostly.

He nodded as he listened to her, getting where she was coming from. "Ok, all male posturing and not quite jokes aside, I get it. Honest, I do. Especially the falling for your best friend part." He had to smile at that. Mirta had been his best friend for a long time before they got together. Unlike a certain ex wife of his.

"Besides, at least being friends first helps you know all their insanities before you fall in love with them. I speak from experience here."

Alien in The Lux [Open]

The Cardassian had decided not to wear his uniform to the Lux; instead he dressed his wiry frame in causal attire. He had chosen a pair of dark slacks that were form fitting with a matching top that he had picked mainly for the comfortable collar about his ridged neck. However, no matter how normal his clothing choice was Gul Dukat still stuck out like a sore thumb when he entered the club/bar.

The arrogant alien strode forward with his own peculiar gait, making his way through the busy establishment like it was perfectly normal for an alien to be strolling in. His keen blue eyes scanned the patrons in idle curiosity as he walked, looking at the assortments of people who were now littering the area before finally making his leisurely way to the bar. He settled his backside into a stool on the far end of the bar, resting his folded arms on the counter waiting to be served by a bartender.

As it turned out, it was perfectly normal for an alien to be strolling in, the place had used to be run by deities after all, she noted some of the bar staff actually nodding to her, some looking sutibly awkward as was usual for past conquests.

Love em and leave em, that was her. Especially lately. She'd seen Dukat. Of course she had, the arrogant one who didn't remember her name. She could do better than that. Lots better. Besides she hated arrogant, reminded her of the nest and that wasn't what she needed anymore.

She conversed briefly with Mirta Gev, the reason she'd come mostly being the fun of watching a Mandalorian have to give things away for free. But not being entirely cruel she'd handed the woman some money to cover a few of her free drinks. Mirta had looked pleased and Alema had laughed. Normal, easy. She was gonna miss all this.

"Hey James" she called to the bartender seating herself on the other side of the bar. "Usual"

"Sure blue" he told her and set to work preparing her drink. She had taken the service from Dukat but it was his own fault for not asking, also in the little too small to be entirely decent jumpsuit, she attracted more attention

Dukat lightly tapped his fingers on the counter, absorbing the atmosphere of the club when he saw the blue-skinned beauty. She certainly had gotten his attention with that body-hugging jumpsuit, much the way the Major had when she walked about so close to him. He didn’t quite take the hint that maybe the Twi’lek wouldn’t like having him around, but that never stopped him before.

The Cardassian stood up from his stool and made his way around the bar to where Alema had taken up her seat “I do hope you’re not still displeased with me …Alema” he put extra emphasis in his sensual voice that he knows her name. He was an arrogant bastard but he had times when he was gentleman, especially when it came to a beautiful woman. Gently he pressed a hand over his heart to show that he was sincere “But I can understand how offended you were. I humbly apologize”

Alema laughed, this, this was typical. Of all the males it had to be the arrogant one that even the Night Herald would turn down. And turn him down she would, she had never and would never take someone to her bed that irritated her so much.

"You understand that do you. You wanted me when I was Night Herald, you wanted the crazy murderous bugslut that the Dark Nest made me and you want me now that I'm nothing. What makes you think for a second I would consider you/"

She used the Force to pull her chair back a little, just out of his reach and shook her head.

"Do you really think any woman would be flattered by that, by knowing that someone wanted her at her worst and probobly doesn't know the changes she's faced, especially a woman that lets face it, can get any male in this place she wants. And can get rid of any male she doesn't. No violence in the lux but there are the Jedi Mind Tricks, how do you feel about believing yourself to be a mynok for the rest of the night"

Free booze. That was a siren song for this pilot (or, well, most any pilot she'd known- especially those that saw combat on a regular basis), and it wasn't long into the night before Zinda arrived, still in uniform thanks to an extra-long patrol shift beforehand. She sauntered up to the bar and held out her hand to grab a 'tender's attention. "Whatever's on tap an' good."

The vampire had caught word of the Lux’s generous offer of a free evening to all its customers, though he could comfortably afford an evening within the building, it sounded like an excellent place to visit. After the weeks he had been having, he needed somewhere to relax; somewhere that was similar to the Raven and this Lux seemed to be the perfect fit.

Slowly the Roman made his entrance clad in his finery, consisting of an Italian 3-piece suit without a tie and expensive looking loafer shoes. He was definitely a snappy dresser, no matter what century he was in. LaCroix made his way across the floor on nearly silent footsteps, to the bar that he gently leaned against as he waited for the busy bartender to come by. He ordered himself a bloodwine before finally settling on a barstool while he waited.

Nathan looked around the room as he made his way inside. The environment was warm and relaxing. He could feel at ease here. There weren’t that many places that he could feel at ease anymore. And now that Eliot was showing himself more around their pseudo-office, he couldn’t drink there either. And right now, he was really dying for a drink. No job. No Sophie, not that he would admit that to anyone. No, he was better off in this place alone.

He made his way up to the bar and propped himself on a stool. Pulling some money out of his pocket, he placed it on the bar, looking up with a small smile. “Whiskey,” he asked nicely. “Straight up and keep them coming.” His voice was a bit quiet, but he could yell if need be.
