The whole room seemed to rattle as a large heater situated in the darkest corner of the large open room performed the laboring task of turning on. There was a loud unhealthy boom at the delayed lighting of the gas followed by a short click when her heater shorted out. Eve winced as she always did when this happened. At first the noise had caused a frantic reaction as the homeless man now lying on the floor with semi translucent smoke billowing out of ever pore could attest too. She hadn’t meant too. He had entered the room and Eve, assuming he had been the source of her torment flash flooded his mitochondria.
Now however with the two disfigured beings in the room as distraction, the loud booms weren’t such a big deal. Eve blinking in confusion frowned miserably, her face showing a perpetual fear of what had just occurred. There was no easy way to broach the topics that formed in her mind, so she resigned to alternate prodding between the man and what seemed to be dead mutated Doberman and the unkempt man.
What seemed like hours passed where Eve kept her mind busy, ignoring the sights and smells around her.. Until that is, she was shaken out of her instinctual stupor by an unrepentant visitor?
