Who: Alessa and Lisa
What: Meeting at a diner.
When: Early in the morning, April 17th
Where: A diner
Rating: Low
Status: In progress
Lisa rushed to the diner as much as she could without appearing crazy. She knew she was a few minutes late to her breakfast meeting with Alessa. She had taken a few minutes more to get ready than perhaps, and before she knew it, she was running late. She didn't want the girl to think she had reconsidered. She wondered if Alessa was already there, and if so, she hoped she'd waited a few more minutes before leaving, if she didn't see Alessa right away. She carried a purse with Alessa's gift inside. She hoped Alessa liked it.
She thought about the comments from that prior night. She had felt guilty all day long about what happened. So right after work, she had gone to the nearest bookstore and searched diligently through the selection, until she found what she thought was the perfect gift for Alessa. This wasn't a ploy to gain Alessa's affection; she honestly wanted the girl to see she cared about her. Lisa wasn't good with affection, especially consider Alessa and her still didn't know each other that well. It might have seemed cliched, but she thought a good gift might help out the process. She also had something else she wanted to ask Alessa, before she dove into the world of real magic spells. She wanted to know exactly what the dangers were in doing this type of thing, before trying it out herself.
Lisa was thrown for a loop when Alessa responded with what appeared to be a depressed message; she honestly thought the girl would see that she was just agreeing to do what Alessa wanted. It would be convenient for both of them, by having a definite schedule, and she hadn't expected the girl to take it as a sign she didn't want to spend any time with her. The truth was Lisa was afraid: afraid of appearing clingy. She didn't want Alessa to think that she was the only person she relied on. But the thing of it was, she really was. She didn't have any friends at work or on the board. Alessa was pretty much the only person she knew here. She didn't foresee that changing anytime soon, and her personality wouldn't help matters much in that area, either.
It was sad how the one other friend she'd had hasn't lasted even two weeks. Maria hadn't come back, which meant she was probably gone. And if what Lisa suspected about her was true, then she was probably dead to boot. The chances weren't great for her ever coming back. She was still a little upset Alessa hadn't treated her better when she first arrived, but part of being a good friend was learning to compromise. Sometimes you just had to let things go. She didn't expect for Alessa's life to revolve around her.
She rushed in through the diner's front door. Her eyes scanned the crowd, searching for the girl's familiar face. A sinking feeling took hold when she didn't spot Alessa right away. She wouldn't blame the girl if she had decided to blow it off in favor of something else: she wasn't really the type of person people wanted to spend time with, but she'd hoped she'd have a chance to give Alessa her present.
