The force wasn't enough to knock her off her feet, but it was enough to cause her to shudder. Nothing unpleasant, mind you, but something that stilled her thoughts, her breath. She was about to open her mouth and ask him to stop when he had already pulled away. She felt cold after that, and was unsure if she really did want him to stop. Elisabeth didn't want him to apologize or feel guilty. And she wanted to express as much, to console him...but he thought such horrible things that it enraged her and in one long-legged step, she crossed over and slapped him. "Don't you ever speak that way to me again. Ever!"
Like his death had been so bloody easy on her. In love or not, she had felt something for the guy and to hear him think such wicked thoughts made her stomach sour.
Beyond pissed, she stormed for the door, thinking she had over stayed her welcome.
