There she stood, pitted against one of her biggest foes. It was giant and intimidating and she doubted the people milling about truly realized the horrors and evils that lay within those concrete walls. The mall. Just the sheer thought of it made her shudder. People became completely different people once they were inside. Regular, everyday soccer moms became vicious unstoppable forces that made the worst vampires look like kittens. No, Abigail would rather be knee deep in the sewers hunting than in this den of retail hell. Suddenly she wished she'd brought Hannibal, he'd probably blend in better than she did.
With a heavy heart she walked through the automatic doors and wished like hell that she had a gun on her. The moment she stepped inside the noises began to penetrate her ears, children screaming and crying, teenagers talking incessantly about whatever current boy band was oh so hot, elderly women chatting about pretty much nothing. Abby shook her head and slipped the earbuds to her ipod in to block out the noise. Once she had some music going she was confident the place wouldn't be able to consume her.
As she walked she was bombarded by the compilation of Chinese, pizza, deli and Mexican foods coming from the food court area. None of it looked tempting to say the least. She kept her eyes forward, intent on finding the things she needed whilst dodging around every kiosk in the center of the aisles trying to get her to take various items. It was like a fleamarket within an even larger more pretentious one. If she got out of there without killing someone she'd be amazed. She prayed for some freak vampire attack in the middle of the day inside the mall
