WHO: Heather Mason & Sam Winchester. WHAT: It's a surprise! WHEN: Early evening; right after this. WHERE: Her place. RATING: PG. STATUS: Complete.
Heather was sure that even after she'd moved out of the Winchester residence, she would continue to see Sam. Maybe not on a daily basis anymore, but definitely at some point. They were connected forever now, and even though everything else between them had seemed to crumble and fall apart, Heather still took solace in knowing there would always be a part of him with her. And that was the very reason she'd texted him to come over when she did, with the urgency that she had.
It started out as just a nauseas sort of feeling when she woke up in the morning. And then, it turned into butterflies. Before she knew it, those butterflies had turned into elephants that were tap-dancing on the inside of her stomach, dance steps that she could feel from both the inside and the outside.
The baby was kicking. Moving and tumbling and kicking.
At the realization, Heather had done the first and only thing she could think of to do. Maybe it was only because she was still so determined to keep him around, to keep him involved, but a much larger part of her just knew that Sam would want to experience it. Even if he wasn't jumping for joy over becoming a father, she knew this was different. He would want to feel it for himself.
Sitting on the sofa in the living room, keeping both hands laid flat against the large roundness of her abdomen in order to continue feeling those thumping motions beneath her palms, she waited for the door to open.
