From the moment she had had the premonition, Phoebe hadn't slowed down. She didn't know when it going to happen, but she was guessing very soon. Fortunately this time the vision she had received wasn't as vague as the one she had had about Jaenelle's impending death at the hands of a deranged, heavily scarred man, who vaguely reminded her of someone.... But that wasn't the pressing matter at the moment. Right now, there was a little boy who was going to be kidnapped if she couldn't make it to the Hyperion on time.
It took her a while to reach said destination, but from the look of things when she made her approach to the front gates, everything seemed to be fine. No sign of a struggle or of the three men she had seen. In fact, things looked relatively peaceful.... And then she saw him, the little boy from her premonition, playing catch with another boy who looked a bit older than him.
Right. She had seen a baseball in her vision too.... It had rolled under the gate and when the boy in question went to get it, they grabbed him.
It was going to happen soon, but she was convinced she could stop it now.
Stopping just short of the wrought iron gates, Phoebe watched as they tossed the ball to-and-fro, looking very happy to be in each other's company. It was hard to believe that anyone would want to encroach on that, but there was a lot of evil in this world.
"Hey," she said smilingly, with a small wave of her hand. Of course, these kids would have no idea who she was, but she had to start this off somehow and this seemed a better way to tell someone they were in trouble without stating that fact right from the off.
"You guys are pretty good."
