Who: Talia Al Ghul What: She notices the Pits have vanished overnight. Decides this means she's supposed to burn down the city. Obviously. When: Morning of the 15th Where: Talia's home status/rating: complete/PG Notes: And with this the Lazarus Pits are no more.
"I've failed you, father."
As Talia looked down on the dry stretch of beach where the Lazarus Pits had once been, the only thing she could think was that she'd failed. There was no one here to confirm this for her, but she didn't need anyone else. She could tell herself. Why else would the Pits have disappeared? Obviously she'd used them in the wrong way and they were gone now, simply because she wasn't worthy. Father had always been right. They were not to be used by just anyone and in her disobedience she'd contaminated them. Showed her father that she simply couldn't handle the responsibility. In everything he'd done to her and she'd done to him, Talia still couldn't bear the fact that somewhere out there he was disappointed in her. Disappointed enough that the Pits had vanished.
She was well aware about the talk that went on, that they'd all been brought here by one force for a purpose yet to be completely revealed. Unfortunately, that wasn't good enough for her. She accepted no mission but her father's and this only proved that straying from the path was not acceptable. Only after Los Angeles was cleansed, and cleansed properly, would she be once again in her father's good graces.
The father of her son would be angry, but eventually even he would see. They only did the work that he and his extended family did, but on a greater scale. Through them, the world was protected from evil. It was, after all, what her father had trained Bruce to do. Eventually the man would come around, but until then…
Talia sighed, pulling her eyes from the three now dry spots. She removed her hand from the balcony railing and turned to walk back inside her home. With such limited resources, her task would be difficult, and more than likely she would have to resort to the methods of old. When all else failed, fire would still burn.
