Who: Lilly Rush What: Lilly's arrival in Los Angeles When: Sometime in the early afternoon of February 14th Where: Starts at a random park; ends at an internet cafe Rating/Warnings: PG for mild cursing on Lilly's part Status: Log: Complete
Detective Rush had seen a lot of messed up shit in her life. She had experienced plenty of it as well; from shooting a cold blooded serial killer to being shot by an obsessive stalker (not her's, thank God). She was used to people lying. Lying to cover their tracks, or someone else's tracks. The detective was also not above lying if it meant getting a confession out of the suspect. Yes; Lilly Rush was used to her days being more abnormal than most, but she wasn't used to what was going on right now.
She was not used to waking up on a park bench in L.A. When she did she almost panicked, but remained calm. Logic told her that someone must have transported her here; but logic also told her that only an incredibly insane person would do this. These thoughts ran through her mind while she remained lying down on the bench. Carefully she lifted up her upper body using her forearms and hands as support. She looked around the area noticing quite a few patrons in the park. None of them said anything; which told Lilly that they either thought she was homeless, or they were used to people showing up via unconventional means.
She swung her legs to the left side so that she could sit up; and finally stand up. It was when she was standing that she checked her person to see if her items were with her. Amazingly enough she still had her wallet, her badge, her gun, and her cell phone. She flipped the device open and turned it on, but her face fell. Flashing on the screen were the words; 'No Signal'. "Damnit," she muttered under her breath.
Lilly walked away from the bench, and headed for the nearest store; which wasn't too far much to her relief. Along the way she paid attention to her surroundings; she remembered that larger cities were dangerous, and L.A. was no exception. So far nothing seemed out of the usual. There were families relaxing; children running around; and a couple cozying up on a bench. Nothing that she wasn't used to. When she made it to the store without incident she went inside. She got herself a bottle of water, grabbed a newspaper, and headed for the register. After paying for the items, and stepping outside; she opened the bottle, and took a drink while reading the front page.
She nearly choked on the water. She did a double take of the date of the newspaper; and clear as day it read, 'February 14th, 2006'. She refused to believe it; she didn't want to believe it, but everywhere she looked the evidence told her, "You're in the year 2006!"
Sighing, she started to walk along the sidewalks until she spotted an internet cafe. She could find out more if she used one of these things; and she could find out what to do next.
