It had been a busy day for L.A. newscasters, with news of a building turning into some kind of monster and attacking people. Casualties were tragic, but fittingly enough, people were paying more attention to the news of a building turning into a monster than that of those who were actually killed.
However, there was one last piece of news to report.
The blonde newscaster and her older male counterpart shared a look as they contemplated the latest piece of news, in what had already been a very weird day.
"Well," the reporter began. "As if L.A. wasn't weird enough, last night we witnessed the crash of an unidentified aircraft into nearby Griffith Park. The vehicle, which resembled a flying saucer like those rumored to have crashed into the desert many years ago, was actually an experimental aircraft that is being developed by the U.S. Air Force. Witnesses flocked to the scene after they reported a flaming object falling to the ground from the sky. About an hour later, transports from the U.S. military arrived and put out the fire that had been raging, before any serious damage was done to the park and its surroundings. Officials are silent on the name and precise capabilities of the craft, but assure the public that the craft and the remains of its pilot have been safely recovered. No word yet on the identity of the pilot, a volunteer who was chosen to fly the craft's inaugural flight. Officials say an investigation is underway as to the cause of the aircraft's accident, and inquiries will be made into the technicians' reports, to see whether the craft had indeed passed safety standards." The newscaster put down his briefings. "Well, I'm glad we're not facing an invasion by aliens at least."
The female newscaster laughed. "I agree. With all the weird stuff that happens in L.A., that's the last thing we need right now."
[Ooc: I don't actually know the features of Griffith Park at all. If you don't think another part would be better suited, tell me on the OOC comm and I'll change it.]
