The kiss took Remy by surprise, not because it was anything new to him (they had been in this position before, after all), but because he hadn't expected things to escalate to this level so quickly. Still, it was a pleasant surprise, and Remy closed his eyes and let the familiar sensation rush over him. He was no longer thinking about the scuffle they were in, no longer thinking about being so far away from home. In fact, for the first time in quite awhile, there was no part of Remy's mind that was currently thinking about Rogue or his betrayal of the X-Men. He was completely lost in the moment, and he loved it.
When he finally did open his eyes (without breaking the kiss, of course), he glanced around and saw that they were now laying in the soft grass of Exposition Park. It was a nice change of scenery, and certainly reflected his sudden change of mood. He closed his eyes again and pressed harder into the kiss. He allowed himself to think that maybe Elisabeth had already worked off her aggression, that she was done with the fighting.
