In the weeks since the sun had disappeared, Skyfire had found himself growing curious over who could have done such a thing. He wasn't interested in fixing the problem, necessarily, as much as he was interested in learning how it had become a problem in the first place. Blotting out the sun was no easy feat and it stood to reason, to him at least, that whoever was capable of such a thing was likely the same one responsible for the current situation he and his bond-mate found themselves in. After all, turning them from their original form into humans had to be nearly as difficult as erasing the sun from the sky.
Truthfully, Skyfire hadn't been giving a whole lot of thought to the form he was trapped in, nor had he been worrying himself over how to get changed back. He had simply been enjoying this new perspective and doing his best to learn as much as he could about humans along the way. Then Valentine's Day had arrived and, with it, flowers from a former enemy of Starscream's. Shortly after that, his bond-mate had begun acting a little... strangely and now, three days later, Skyfire's priorities had shifted to the point that returning to his original form had become one of the topmost ones.
It was worry, ultimately, that led to this change in views. Worry for Starscream. Worry for the humans of this world should Starscream regain his true form later rather than sooner. For Skyfire was no fool. The longer his beloved remained trapped in what he clearly viewed as a weaker state, the longer he was stuck on the ground and unable to fly as he was built to do, the more dangerous he was going to become.
And so Skyfire had decided the time to research was at hand. He put aside his notes on humanity, his endless list of questions about a civilization that was so very young yet had accomplished so very much, and he committed himself to solving the riddle about how they had become a part of that civilization... and how to reverse such a proceedure.
His research had kept him up late the night before and had taken over most of the morning, as well. Now, it took him from the relative safety of the Hyperion Hotel and out, into the streets of Los Angeles. He was on his way to the library in search of information regarding the cosmos (for he still reasoned, if he could find those responsible for the sun issue he would find those responsible for his issue, as well), and only realized once the Hyperion was well out of sight that, perhaps, going for a jaunty stroll in the middle of eternal darkness wasn't the smartest thing he could have done.
Still, Skyfire wasn't about to turn around now. He had a mission and, while he was no soldier and was definitely not nearly as driven as Starscream when it came to most things, he was determined to see this through to the end. He just had to make it to the library in one piece, first. And hope he didn't run into anything unsavory along the way.
