Mary bit the bottom of her lip nervously as the vehicle they were in lurched to the right. She might have felt better about the situation had she not been blindfolded, but as it was Mary had no idea where they were being transported to. The demon had told them that they were going to be released to relay a message to Dean, but who could trust demons anyway? For all she knew they were going to another place as hellish as the last they had been at. Again she tried the rope binding her hands, but found it just as firm as it had been the last time she tried to slip out of it.
“We're headed home, Claire.” She whispered quietly, hoping that Claire was thinking of that and not of all the other possibilities. The girl deserved to be hopeful for a few minutes.
The vehicle pulled to a stop and Mary felt someone pulling her out. Her hands were untied, and before Mary could even get the blindfold off of her face she heard the vehicle pull away quickly. It was completely gone by the time Mary worked the material off of her face so that she could see again.
Mary turned her attention first to Claire, helping her remove her blindfold, and then she looked to see where they were. The street looked familiar, though it looked different in the dark, and Mary was too tired to try to place it. When she turned, however, the reason the place looked so familiar was instantly apparent.
Home. She could see home. What's more, she could see the familiar black truck and Impala in the driveway, and two figures talking next to the cars.
“We're here.” She said, putting an arm around Claire's shoulders. The girl might have healed from her injuries, but she was still clearly weak, and Mary didn't want to have her fall and injure herself further when they were almost there. “Come on, honey, we're almost home.”
She started walking, but even that wasn't fast enough, because she wanted to be back inside of her house and safe again, and she wanted the same for Claire. “John.” She called out, hoping it would be enough to get her husband's attention. “John!”
