In spite of all the worry and concern and strain that surrounded what Sam had done, there was no denying the immense relief and happiness that came along with it as well. Heather knew not everyone would understand, but she hoped that eventually they would, for Sam's sake, as well as for the sake of their child. There was a good chance the baby would end up having demon blood, and that being the case, abilities weren't out of the question. In order to save him or her from the kind of life Sam had endured right up until he climbed into that pit, they would need to use the same method. And if it worked for Sam, that was all the better for their unborn child. Heather hadn't gotten a real chance to explain that to anyone, and she was pretty sure Sam hadn't done so yet either, but when the opportunity arose, she wanted to do it. Even if they all said they did understand, Heather wanted to make sure of it. It was important to her, and she was sure it was important to Sam.
However, right now, Heather wasn't entirely focused on any of that. She was busy putting on layers of clothing as Sam had instructed. She wasn't sure what he was up to or what he had in mind, but if he was going out of his way to actually cook? Then it had to be pretty amazing.
She'd pulled on a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, followed by a hoodie, a scarf, and boots. She shoved a pair of gloves into the pockets of her coat for added measure. She felt a little bumpy from all of the material, but figured it would do well to keep her warm, and that was what Sam had told her to do. Definitely no chance of freezing there.
On her way downstairs, Heather happened to glance down at her stomach just for a second. It was something she was starting to do more often now, even if there was no physical signs of her pregnancy yet. In the very beginning, she'd avoided that area of her body for the longest time. But now, well. It wasn't such a bad place after all.
"Sam?" she called as she took the last step of the staircase. "Come on, I'm gonna melt pretty fast if we don't leave soon."
