WHO: Veronica, Zuko, & Backup. WHAT: Going for a walk. WHERE: Streets close to Hyperion. WHEN:Does it matter? There is no sun. Feb 16, Noonish. RATING: TBD. STATUS: In Progress.
Veronica was living at the Hyperion now, which was a big adjustment. There were a lot of people there, and Veronica was not particularly fond of people. There were some that she liked, but not many. She'd been kind of a misanthrope back home, ever since Lilly had died and she'd chosen to stand by her dad instead of all her friends. But that simply was not possible here. It was hard to get along on ones own in this world of darkness. And besides, she needed to eat. Backup needed to eat. So she had to suck up her misanthropic ways and find a job.
And that was what led her to the Hyperion, and now she was living there. The other people seemed to be okay, the ones she'd talked to anyway. And she might even go so far as to say she liked Claire and her son, Aaron, even if the name was not her favorite, but Veronica hadn't really gotten to know anyone yet. She just wasn't the warm fuzzy type, unless you asked Wallace. He thought that beneath her angry girl facade she showed to the world that there was a slightly less angry teenage girl who was dying to back him something.
"You're a marshmallow, Veronica Mars. A twinkie."
She wasn't sure what made her think of that conversation now, maybe she just missed Wallace or something. She'd had a really rough year and that was before she came here. Right now, she was out walking Backup, but she wasn't alone. Zuko was with her because a tiny girl couldn't exactly stand up to the forces of darkness with just her taser, not a regular girl like her anyway. She didn't think she needed a bodyguard, because she thought Backup was enough, but she couldn't really argue with her new employers, not about this anyway.
She didn't even know what to say to Zuko, he was a little younger than her, though technically given the month and the year...she should only be seventeen. It was too complicated sometimes and it made her brain hurt to think about. For a PI, she could sure lack people skills sometimes. Backup didn't seem to have a care in the world though, as he basically pulled Veronica along, this happened often. He was a pitbull, after all, and she was not a female body builder.
