The man trembled against the brick wall he found himself pinned against. He struggled against the invisible grip holding him, to no avail. Kain smiled as he held the human telekinetically pinned against the wall. The man was dressed even stranger than other humans around here, wearing a wide-brimmed hat, some kind of long overcoat, and leather boots. A Vampire Hunter. Kain smiled deviously as he watched the man struggle fruitlessly in his grasp. He was no longer interested in going after humans for sport, but the man had attacked him, proclaiming him a vampire and that he would die like the "unholy scourge that he was". Too bad for him, Kain was no common vampire. The emperor's mouth turned downwards in distaste as he recalled the words. It reminded him far too much of the Sarafan.
It had been a while since he engaged in single combat with a human for sport. As a Vampire Lord, he had his lieutenants to serve him and was expected to reign over them from his throne. So he amused himself with manipulating his lieutenants into fighting each other, while the fledglings did the work of handling the humans. He had to admit, he had sort of missed it. Kain telekinetically slammed the man repeatedly against the wall, not hard enough to kill him, but hard enough to leave him dazed. The man's consciousness was fading, but he still had some fight left in him. Kain could see him reaching feverishly for something in his pocket. Kain released him briefly to see what he would do. There was nothing the man could do to kill him, after all. Undeterred, the man quickly took advantage of the situation and threw some kind of liquid at the vampire, from a bottle he had procured from his vest pocket.
Kain looked down at the splash of water, which barely sizzled as it made contact. He was far too used to water for that to be of any effect on him. He looked up at the human hunter, who was staring in the grip of undisguised, amazed horror. "Was that supposed to accomplish something?" he asked, grinning with a savage expression of triumph on his face. The man was visibly trembling in shock by now.
The man desperately tried to reach for another weapon, but it was too late. Kain pounced on him quicker than any human and grasped him with an iron grip. He sank his teeth into the man's throat and bit down hard, savoring the taste of the blood flowing underneath. It had been a while since he gave in to his darker urges, but this was a new world, and there was no need to play the savior here, for the time being. Even vampires of his age needed their amusements once in a while. Pulling back, he ripped a piece of flesh off of the man's throat with his fangs, watching as the man screamed in horror from his wound. The sound was music to Kain's ears. He wasn't a completely heartless bastard, but there was something about the cries of one's enemy that always remained pleasing. Raising his hand, he draw the blood from his wound with his power, urging it to flow into his mouth until the man was drained. He wiped his mouth with one gauntlet, still savoring the taste of the sweet crimson. He grasped the body with one clawed hand as it slumped. Pathetic. Not even the slightest challenge. And yet, he had to admit, he was oddly reinvigorated. He threw the body hard against the wall, watching it slump lifelessly to the ground.
