The days were getting more and more tiring. She officially hated clowns. After everything that happened, she didn't even want to have the special time she'd planned to have with Bart. All she wanted to do was have a nice, long soak in the tub and go to sleep.
She was just getting undressed when she noticed something lying on the bed. As she moved closer, she realized exactly what it was.
Isobel's spellbook.
Part of her was telling her to back away right this second, call Bart or Kara to get rid of it, but another part was drawn to it, like something was pulling her to it. Maybe it held the answer she was looking for, though a voice in her head screamed that it was just trouble waiting to happen. She hesitated only slightly before she opened it and began to turn the pages as the fire slowly died down.
It was all in Latin, just as she remembered, and she still had no idea what any of it meant. Still, there had to be some kind of hint inside that would tell her how to change all this.
Then she reached the page marked with the same symbol as she was. She remembered this, including the strange brown splatter that overlapped with it.
As she stared down at it, she had the overwhelming urge to touch it. Nothing good could come from it, she knew, but there was that same pull again, the one she had to the book and now to the symbol.
She didn't want to touch it. Isobel was likely to come back if she did. Despite this, her hand reached out for it.
The fireplace erupted into flame once again and Lana's eyes were lit briefly with violet light, along with the mark on her back. A smirk slowly spread across her features before Isobel looked toward a nearby mirror and admired the body she inhabited, now clad only in lacy purple underwear. The muscles seem a bit sore, but there had been a lot of excitement for her heir tonight. Perhaps the boyfriend would be able to remedy this...
