Who: Jo, God
When: Chistmas Eve, Afternoon
Where: A Church somewhere in LA
Rating/Status: Probably cleanish, doubtful Jo has the balls to swear in front of God / Thread, incomplete
She really had no idea how being sent out for a couple last minute things that had been forgotten in the chaos for dinner ended with her in a Church of all places, but somehow it had. Jo entered the building quietly, the fact it had been over a decade since the last time she had set foot in one not lost on her. Other than people milling about and making sure everything was ready to go for Mass later that night it was rather quiet, mostly empty of anyone that didn't have a task to do. Jo walked in a few pews and slipped into one, glancing around at the building.
When she had been a kid her Dad used to take her to the Church in town every Sunday he was home. "Because you never know," he had said with a wink to her as they walked up the steps and joined the congregation. She had only been a kid but she knew despite the love and forgiveness that was preached she and her Dad weren't wanted. She could remember the way eyes shifted and words became colder as they all said their peace be with you's and shook hands, she could remember the looks of pity the other children's Mother's gave her. They were, after all, the town trash, owners of that bar down the road where god knows what went on.
She had always known there was a God, you don't spend your life knowing everything about the other end of it and dismiss that there has to be an opposite out there. But she had also always known it was something that wasn't meant for her, it was meant for the normal people like Shelby Walters who used to pray every night for a C cup to drive the boys wild. They had God. She had the other stuff. So now that there was God here and an Angel who threatened to tear everything apart she couldn't be disappointed in the way it worked out. After all when you had no expectations to begin with it wasn't that hard to not feel disappointed.
