Re: Sarah & Toby; sister/brother dance :D
Toby meant to get to the dance on time, but somehow things just didn't work out like that. For starters, there were entirely too many people at the reception to see and talk to and distract him, but, most importantly, because somewhere along the way the 'little flower thing,' as Toby called it, had fallen off. He spent several near frantic minutes crawling around under tables to find the white rose boutineer before he finally gave up. There was no way he was gonna find it in time, and he could already hear the DJ calling for him. Impulsively, he broke something that looked roselike off of one of the nearby tables and tucked it into his suit, hoping it wasn't too noticable. He HAD been trying very hard to be good and not get dirty or do anything to mess up Sarah and Peter's big day.
"Here!" He called, rushing through the people near the dance floor to make his way to Sarah. "I'm here..." He all but skidded to a halt next to her, looking up at her with a look of shock, because for the first time he realized that she was a grown up. Not in the way that meant that he could use her to drive him places or something like that, but a real adult instead of his silly big sister who just happened to be of age. It was weird. Hearing James Taylor made him feel all funny too, and though he was old enough to not want to get emotional about it or anything, he could remember every James Taylor song she had ever sang to him.
Swallowing hard, he offered her his hand. He had been practicing for this, even though he thought dancing in front of people was sort of silly, because he knew it meant a lot to her. Toby was determined he was going to get this right.
