Re: Alice, Jasper & Claire (SBC); dancing hours
Jasper had willingly submitted to another of his wife's marathon shopping sessions, both because he knew that he had no choice, and because he loved the way that her eyes glowed warm amber when she was full and excited. As far as he was concerned, no woman, human or otherwise, could ever be so lovely as his tiny Alice, and no one would ever be able to convince him otherwise. Even dressed in her light, soft fabrics, to him she was still the most radiant woman in the room.
There were quite a few people at the reception, more than enough to make him nervous about leaving Alice alone, but he knew that she would not be deterred until this vision of hers had been realized. He gave her a long look, his hand lingering in the small of her back for a moment.
"You'll be alright here?" It was really a statement more than a question, not just because Jasper knew Alice could hold her own, but because he couldn't imagine exactly what he would do, what he would become, if something happened here to try to harm her. Rules against violence be damned in that case, Jasper knew that he would act swiftly enough to get rid of any threat.
