He came home to That Song.
Lindsey shut the door and dropped his keys on the counter, pausing as he heard a female voice belting out classics of the 90s in the shower. She had a beautiful voice, one that had drawn him to her like a siren that open mike night at the bar. But he only needed a few seconds to realize that the song she was singing happened to be none other than Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On."
He had an intense dislike of that song. It'd been bad enough when every radio station had played it every single day without fail but then some misguided soul had decided to cover it as a country song that had invaded his favorite station and he'd been subjected to it over. And over. And over.
His hand was inches from the bathroom door to ask her to change the channel when the evil idea struck. Instead, he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and gently turned the doorknob and pushed the door open. The singing grew louder as he leaned in, holding the phone up and accessing the video feature. In a few moments, Cathy's rendition of the song was saved on his phone and he was quietly closing the door again.
It was fair. She still had the video of some of his drunken escapades at the Lux from the double date establishment study night. Including the rewrite of We are the Champions performed with Peter. Grinning, he set the phone on the bedside table and quickly changed, sliding under the covers just as the water shut off. When Cathy came into the bedroom, he was already out like a light.

Lindsey stumbled out of the bedroom, still half asleep and scratching his chest as he shuffled into the kitchen. Soon enough, the coffee was brewing and he was scrutinizing the instructions for the waffle iron. After deciding it wasn't something he wanted to screw around with at the moment, he went for one of the frying pans and the eggs from the fridge.
When he heard Cathy up and around, he sat up on the counter and picked up his phone, scrolling through the saved videos. A self-satisfied smirk appearing, he waited for her to appear in the kitchen.
