Howard was scared, that wasn't much of a change really, and generally speaking he had reason to be scared what with green men and sea creatures stalking him. He was scared now because Vince had disappeared, first Naboo, then Bollo and now Vince. He'd had to run the shop on his own, look after Gary Numan and try not to get murdered by some of the nasty members of Camden society. In the end he'd let Gary go, he knew Vince would be sad but it was for the best, Howard just couldn't cope with all that on his own and if he forgot to feed Vince's hero he'd never be able to forgive himself.
Other than all that things weren't going too badly, but he'd decided to close the shop for a while. He needed to find Vince, find his sunshine man and make sure he was okay. Vince was fairly good at looking after himself, well okay he wasn't but he was pretty good at getting other people to look after him. He'd packed an emergency kit just in case he did find Vince somewhere bad, it contained all this favourite things, sweets, an iPod full of electro-pop, some hair straighteners and a change of clothes replicated from the cover of the lastest Cheekbone.
He really hoped he hadn't got lost round the back of Sainsbury's while visiting Leroy, it wasn't nice round there, bad men hung around and Vince was the type of man that might be taken advantage of my bad men. He could be anywhere now, he could be chained up in a basement forced to do unspeakable things by burly men.
"I'll save you little man," he muttered to himself as he walked down the road. He could see the Sainsbury's from here. It looked alright from the front, but the back was a different story, it was practically a different world back there, full of drug crazed vermin and scary looking shadows that moves when you weren't looking at them. He didn't want to do this, his legs shaking as he walked towards the supermarket. He had to though, it was his best friend he was talking about.
As Howard walked the scene around him changed suddenly and he found himself in a park. He looked around for a moment and then for reasons best known to himself lept into a bush and hid.
