Needless to say, Envy was rather stumped as he caught glimpse of a rather strange cafe full of glowing boxes connected to other boxes via wires; There were even some that were not connected to anything at all, and yet the humans that sat in front of these... he failed to come up with anything save for a 'picture box'.
The figure that strode into that cafe out of sheer curiosity was a tall, gray eyed, sandy-brown haired young man dressed in what Envy thought of as farm clothing: dark denim, black boots, and a off-color short sleeve shirt. It was what he had noticed many a humans wearing, and he wasn't about to have himself stand out when he was trying to gather information about where he currently was beyond the names he had heard used.
The sin didn't exactly take a seat right away, he was more apt at watching, and every single human that was within this cafe was not partaking in any food at all, all enamored by the picture boxes. Actually, there was no aroma of food at all besides the distinctive scent of coffee, which intrigued the sin further. What sort of cafe served no food to human patrons, yet let them sit bleary-eyed while they paid no attention to the outside world?
Taking a glance around, the sin found a couple of picture boxes in the very back of the cafe that had no one seated at them, and they were far enough away from everything that he might be able to poke around and see exactly how these strange boxes worked.
The seat was rather stiff, despite the appearance, and Envy found that the picture boxes had a type writer attached via a cable of some sort to the secondary box that sat next to everything else. His sensitive hearing easily picked up on all sorts of odd electrical sounds coming from the blank box, somewhat slender fingers picking up the small, odd object next to the type writer keys. The red light that emanated from the small device caught the sin off guard, causing his face to frown ever so slightly.
When he placed the device back down, he noticed an arrow on the picture box had moved a fraction of an inch, and every time he moved the device, it moved in much the same manner as his hand. Placing a finger on the picture box in order to see if that would have the same reaction, the warm feel of smooth glass caused him to pull back the very same digit. Well it seemed this picture box had rules associated with it, and apparently touching with physical hands didn't work unless you used the small device next to the type writer keys.
Speaking of keys, the sin didn't see any paper placed within striking range of the keys, which means either the last human to use this device either took it with them, or someone forgot to replace the missing sheet. Thankfully a glance around allowed him to locate a lovely stack of bone-white sheets that he helped himself to in order to continue his exploration of this strange picture box. Placing one of the sheets under the type writer keys, he was surprised to see that there were no wheels or arms with letters attached to them; not even an ink supply was available with which to use to imprint the letters onto the paper. This was reinforced when pressing keys produced nothing at all on the blank sheet.
"Well that didn't work, now what?" was the only spoken response he gave as he inspected the paper a second time just in case he did something wrong the first time.
