Who: Envy & Seth What: Bird sighting! Meeting. When: Early in the evening. Where: A park. Rating: TBD?
The sense of routine had consumed Seth. Since Selene left because of something Logan did, she didn’t care to return to the Cathedral. It wasn’t the same without her. She explored Los Angeles more, every inch of asphalt, every green area, there was no place she hadn’t combed; some restricted zones were violated and investigated to satisfy her curiosity.
When she was done, when she returned to her pretension to sell flowers or tea or trinkets to fish information, the boredom began to accumulate in her brain. She was brilliant, a genius scientist and an empress, what purposes did she have in this place? The local “wars” were uninteresting to her and the aimless feeling began to fester within. Lilith must be still somewhere, Seth reminded herself the reason why she must linger with this low profile.
Outside, the girl didn’t look somber, but had a cheerful mask well placed to smile at the possible costumers. Whistling, she swung the basket of wilting flowers in her slim arms and skipped into a park. She recalled her private gardens briefly, the beautifully blooming bushes and trees and the melodious yellow birds she kept contained. They approached her shyly while she napped after dismissing her Court. Caged like me. What’s to do a bird with clipped wings when she’s out of her cage? How will her life be like, hmm? mused Seth while she looked at the birds resting on the naked branches.
It was getting late. The sun had set and the wind was becoming chilly, but she didn’t care about this cold. Mars had been frozen; Los Angeles would be lukewarm to that memory. She sought a solitary spot to stay the night. Once she found an empty bench, Seth jumped on it and sprawled completely, she was a small girl and she didn’t need much space. This would be her bed. If the police found her, she would dart off.
“Night, night, misses and misters pigeons,” she waved at the nearest flock. Where were her Children to cover her with luxury?
