It started out like any other dream of his might, vivid and yet surreal. The sort of dream that any kid might have, flying in a warmly orange creamy colored sky on the back of his Sky Bison Appa. In the air he felt weightless, happy. The best part was, his two friends were by his side, Sokka was flying with his staff, which should have been the first sign of a dream. Sokka didn't fly, not on his own anyway-to his right, and Katara to his left flying on a large confused looking Momo with out stretched wings. Everything was perfect, the sky was clear. She was waving at him. Then her voice.
we need you Aang. He was smiling. I need you too. The wind picked up, a dark cloud ominously hung in the air infront of him. Small at first, but then expanded. Becareful guys! He shouted to them. They were already gone as he held Appa's reigns a bit tighter and the Bison floated towards the darkness. A familiar face of the monk who raised him from the light behind the cloud appeared infront of his eyes.
Why did you disappear? He asked in a soft sweet voice, that made Aang flinch with guilt. I didn't mean too... Aang tried to reach out to him, tried to explain..but Giatsu disappeared in a mist of smoke. Aang bit his lip. We need you Aang. His voice again, this time more haunted. Like he always thought it might be if he ever met Giatsu again after the Fire Nation's attack. Blaming him for the blood split that day. A storm rose out of nowhere, hard rain soaked him through and Appa began to fall from the sky into the ocean below. The pair submerged in the frigid water. Aang heard nothing but voices around him. we need you Aang. they repeated in an echo like ghosts of his imagination. He fell to the dark unforgiving waters.
His consciousness lost until a crack of lightning and a tall figure flashed into his mind. He didn't have time to think of who it could be, his eyes snapped open and he woke screaming. Cold sweat gathered on his face. He couldn't sleep anymore. He hadn't been able too since he and Katara returned. Every night the same thing happened, he fell asleep and his dreams were invaded by fear. He couldn't take it anymore and so he didn't bother trying to fall asleep again.
Instead he picked himself up out of bed and pulled his blanket with him, descending down the stairs he curled up on the couch in the dark. Unable to help but feel a little paranoid with every noise, every sound made him turn in it's direction. That's when he heard footsteps and huddled a bit further under his large blanket and took a deep breath. Trying to calm himself down.
