After his meeting with Creed, Logan had set off back to his place. The place that had once been his safe haven, relaxed his soul was now filled with darkness. His claws cut through the police tape like a hot knife through butter as he stepped over the threshold. He could smell where her body had been laying. Other scents mingled in the air. Blood, sex.. Selene. And.. Creed? That was odd. But Logan figured maybe he came here one night looking for him.
So many memories were locked within the thin walls of his apartment. Everywhere he looked he saw Selene, things he'd done with her. The bed, the shower. Every conversation they'd ever had within those walls replaying in his head. Pain shot through him like he'd never experienced before. The crippling kind that brought him to his knees. Tears leaked down the sides of his face. Ones of sadness, anger, anguish and pain. Low keening sounds came from him.
The hours of night dwindled on, soon the sun rose and brought him out of his reverie. Over the course of the last few hours he'd allowed himself to mourn, to miss her. A part of him he was trying to ignore was telling him it wasn't real, she couldn't do this to him. That she wouldn't. But the evidence was just too much to deny the obviousness of it all.For the life of him he couldn't figure it out. He loved her so completely and unconditionally, would of given her anything she wanted and everything. And as much as he didn't want to admit it, he knew he still would.
There was one truth he knew. Logan couldn't kill her. He just couldn't. So when it came down to it, she had the sword and there was only one possible outcome. Logan wasn't going to be walking this earth for much longer. Because no matter what her true feelings were, he couldn't change his. They were real and he didn't want to change that. No matter the pain it caused him inside. He'd go to his grave loving her. And he was at peace with that.
Pulling himself up he left the apartment and got on his bike that he had parked out front when he arrived. It didn't take him to get to the hospital. Walking inside he went to Jin's room with surprising ease. He got to her bedside and took her hand. They'd told him she had been conscious, just sleeping. After a few moments she opened her eyes and looked at him. Logan gave her a smile, feeling terrible this happened because of him.
"Hey, how are you feelin'?" He brushed her hair back from her forehead, rewarded with a smiled. "Don't worry, I'm going to take care of it. She'll never hurt you again." He hated to know this would be the last Jin would ever seen of him alive. Logan looked up, noticing the confused look on her face. "What is it?"
He helped her sit up some and shook her head. "It was a man. Big man, claws, black eyes." In that moment Logan's fists clenched and he growled inwardly. "You're sure this wasn't Selene?" He was even more shocked by the small laugh Jin gave him. "Oh no Logan-san. Selene would never do this to me. She cares for you far too deeply."
Logan shook his head. "I don't think so Jin, it was all a lie. She was working for the ones I told you about from my past. The one that did this to you.. he was my brother. Creed. I'm so sorry Jin. How will you ever forgive me?" He was given her warm smile. "Because, you are not an animal, you did not do this. I believe you are wrong. A woman that gazed at you as she had could not be lying. Her spirit wouldn't allow it. Follow your heart Logan-san. It's the only guide you have."
He nodded and bowed to her to say goodbye. He needed to find Selene and try to make sense of this. If Creed had stolen the sword... he must of given it to her. This was all not making sense. It was time he got answers, before he started making some bad decisions. One's he couldn't take back.
