[ooc: reposting your comment with mine, since there was a typo I didn't think you'd want immortalized for all time. <3]
"Not that bad?" Toby laughed loudly, seizing the controller from Nathan. "You already passed three powerups, and you're about to die." He controlled the game with one hand and gestured with the other. "See? That thing was going to get you and you're already low on power."
Chuckling loudly to himself, he easily manuvered his game character around the danger. There was just something about video games that was built to help children do far better at them than adults.
Yes, definitely designed to make fools of anyone of adult years, Nathan decided, watching Toby exert far more control over the on-screen character that he had been able to manage yet.
"They don't exactly make those things clear," he grumbled. Of course, that lack of apparent control due to age wasn't going to stop Nathan, as when faced with things he couldn't do well, he continued to try. It was the reason so much of the Hyperion kitchen was new to brand new.
As Toby's attention focused on the game, the door cracked open and Sarah peered around the corner. Seeing Toby engrossed in it as Nathan turned to look at her, she raised a finger to her lips with a shh-ing motion, her grin wide. Her head disappeared behind the door and, after a few moments of focusing, a panther appeared around the door where Sarah had been standing. With silent footfalls, she slid around the cracked door and into the room, moving in a wide circle to get around behind both of them.
Coming up beside Toby, she stretched her neck, whiskers almost brushing the side of his face, and let out a low sound, more chirrup than roar, right next to his ear.
