Who: Lebia Maverick and OPEN What: Lebia arrives in L.A.! When: February 3, early afternoon Where: A random street Rating: TBD Status: Incomplete
The change was sudden, unexpected. She had just walked through the door to her apartment and she was standing on a busy city street. It was day time, further surprising Lebia because it had been night back at her apartment. This couldn’t be Tokyo, then. So where was she?
She didn’t recognize this place, wherever it was. But there was some hint of familiarity, like she should recognize it and remember it. Walking down the busy street, she looked for some sign that told her where she was. It didn’t take long for her to find one. She was standing in front of a conveniently placed electronics store, with a television set in the window, broadcasting the local news.
”And the weather in Los Angeles today is…”
“Los Angeles?” she gasped in Japanese, looking around in disbelief. “This can’t be…” It looked nothing like the Los Angeles she remembered. Granted, it had been a while since she returned to the city she was born in, but this was ridiculous. Everything looked so outdated and so… different.
”So far, the weather has been kind since the start of 2005…”
Lebia could have been knocked over with a feather. “2005?” she repeated awestruck. “It can’t be… How did I get here?” she wondered aloud, still speaking in Japanese. Walking away from the display window, she tried to see some sort of recognizable place or feature, but this L.A. was completely different to her. She was lost, even after reading the street signs to figure out where she was, exactly.
“Okay. Stay calm,” she muttered. “At least you’re not dressed in your uniform.” But the knee-length lavender dress, wine red jacket and dark hose was definitely more of a night ensemble. Hopefully it wouldn’t draw too much attention to her.
