Who: Seeley Booth and Heidi Petrelli What: The long way home from work walk When: Evening Where: A few blocks away from home Rating: TBD
He really wasn't the type of guy to be unappreciative but Booth missed his job. Not that his current job was all that bad, especially when he got paid for something that had once been a hobby, but he'd worked hard to get where he'd been and he didn't have to deal with bitchy customers who thought they knew better.
Just today he'd had to deal with a guy protesting that the problem was the alternator when it was obvious it was the spark plugs. But he hadn't been able to convince him of that until the man had finally told him to do it, hoping he'd failed. Yet when the key went in the ignition, the car started. The guy hadn't even looked ashamed with the way he'd acted. Sure, his job with the FBI had gotten him yelled at by plenty of idiots but at least he'd been able to respond without the fear of losing his job via customer complaint.
Booth had stayed late to finish up replacing a battery set up and by the time he'd left the office, Daylight Savings Time had screwed him over and the sun had just set. Scowling, he'd found a piece of wood from a pile of scrap out back and tucked it in his back pocket, tugging his t-shirt down over to conceal it from wandering eyes, and then said his good byes to the rest of the guys still sticking around.
Not for the last time, he cursed that damn fuzzy green demon that had wrecked his car to hell.
