Bella was looking forward to the day when she was not going to have to wear contacts anymore. Her eyes were now an orange-red color, still not 'normal' enough to go without the bother of the contacts that changed her eyes to a muddy brown when she went out. It was probably dark enough that she could get away with it, and not to mention the number of strange people around here that probably liked to make their eyes look more unnatural than hers were naturally.
Before she had gone to visit a man she had made contacts with about acquiring an ID (Edward had once that made him look old enough to get into 'over 21' only places, why shouldn't she?) she had put in the contacts. It was annoying, seeing every single fiber of the material, but at least it made the man she was dealing with more comfortable. She was picking up her request today, at a restaurant. The man had invited her to eat with him, but respectfully, she declined. Instead, she had slipped her long, soft beige coat over her blue cocktail dress, and, thanked the man for his good work, and headed for the door. The ID would be worth the price, it wasn't like it put any dent in the Cullen's accounts.
She was on the sidewalk, and heading for her parked Ferrari F430, black stilettos making no noise on the ground in an almost unnatural way. She was reaching for her keys, when she caught the scent of another. Another like her, a vampire, though she doubted it was one exactly like herself, and like Edward. He or she didn't have the same scent that the local vampires had. This person wasn't like the monsters that represented the majority of their kind in this city. Curious, she stopped at her car, placing one hand on the door handle, and turning to look down the city street.
