Hunched over the counter of the Candy Bouquet, L stuck the tip of his thumb into his mouth as he meandered the possibilities of each of the bouquet and whether he shouldn't just buy all of them to save him from having to travel back to the store at a later date. The people at the counter were eager, because they wanted the sale but he was not reflecting their enthusiasm. Not that he ever would. After spending his entire morning trying to find an adequate candy store, he ended up at this one. As a last resort, perhaps. He was feeling in the mood for Halloween candy, but all of the stores he had been to had been wiped clean out and this place so far was the only one that still had any. In large quantities.
Of course, the need to work out the mystery as to why he had arrived so unexpectedly in Los Angeles while he was watching video tapes continuously still nagged in the back of his mind, but he thought he wouldn't be able to work out why without a large supply of sweets to keep him going. L sighed heavily, eying each of the bouquets on display with great concentration. He could tell the person serving him was starting to get irritated. They wanted the sale, they wanted him out of there. That didn't bother L, though. If they wanted the sale bad enough they'd wait for him. In the end, he decided to get all of them. Unlike many other people who had arrived unexpectedly, L could still access his fortune. "Mm," he began, discovering the difficulty in having to carry them all home. "Maybe, you could deliver the rest to me?" He finished in his low monotone, nodding at the rest of the bouquets.
So it was decided, then, that they would be delivered to the hotel he was staying at and he would carry two of the large Halloween ones home with him, to tide him over until the rest came to him. He cradled his two bouquets in his arms, a lollipop already shoved in his mouth before he left and made his way out of the street. L was barely looking where he was going, in fact, he really wasn't at all. His vision was so impaired by the giant black and orange lollipops sticking out from the top of the boxes that he didn't see the person walking towards him until it was too late. The boxes fell dramatically in slow motion from his arms and onto the sidewalk, probably sending the person he had bumped into with them. He didn't say anything, but simply removed the lollipop from his mouth carefully with two fingers and looked down at the person he knocked over. Should he be a gentleman, or grab his candy and walk away like it never happened? He had no idea how to handle the situation.
