It was a new beginning to Ivy. Ivy hated new beginnings. They seemed to come about every few years or so and each time she found herself slightly more enraged than before. Her powers would increase, just a little bit more, her embodiment with Mother Nature grew a little bit more entangled with the leftover bits of Dr. Pamela Isley.
Pamela. Ivy can barely remember a time when she was even referred to by that name. She remembered the last few moments of her previous life: begging Batman to help her, as her human children- the orphans from the earthquake- were endangered by her radical temperament because she wanted nothing more than to nurture these helpless creatures....
She left Gotham city, breaking her own promise to herself to never leave that cold metropolis ever again. She closed her eyes and went to the first place that her finger could hit on a map. Los Angeles.
It was difficult to attempt to start a new life- being green for one matter, tended to disrupt things, and having the innate ability to grow plants everywhere the green goddess took a nimble footstep also brought unnecessary attention. Plant-life and the concrete jungle of Los Angeles did not mix. Soon she found herself in one of the few safe havens this city would provide her: Mac Arthur Park. Nobody would notice, except the occasional homeless man, that the park would transform from an urban lawn into a Garden of Eden.
There she sat for days on end, enjoying her newfound life and freedom. No Batman. No Hush. No Clayface. She cultivated a new group of "orphans"- the homeless people of Los Angeles who freely took and filled themselves from the vegetables and fruit her trees and bushes provided. Ivy was happy.
