WHO: Lord Voldemort (closed; narrative)
WHAT: The Dark Lord arrives in the City of Angels.
WHEN: Evening
WHERE: Random street
RATING: PG-13ish (non-explicit random Muggle violence)
STATUS: COMPLETE
One moment he'd been on his way out of the Malfoy Estate, moving across the foyer toward the front doors. The next, he found himself rather inexplicably standing amidst a row of Muggle buildings, with the dull roar of nearby traffic ringing in his ears. His eyes narrowed even more than they'd already been to begin with and, slowly, Lord Voldemort turned in a circle with his wand held out in front of him.
What sort of treachery is this? was his first thought, before he decided it didn't matter. He'd get his answers. He always did. But first...
A gasp from someone nearby caused him to turn in that direction. The words were spoken with a casual sort of disdain, his wand swinging almost lazily before him. "Avada Kedavra." A green light, and the young woman dressed in the jogging attire was dead. Her wide green eyes stared up at him and he turned in disgust.
He needed to find some answers. He needed to summon his followers. But first... first he needed to secure himself a place to stay. Surveying his area - a somewhat well-off Muggle neighborhood from the looks of it - he chose a home at random. Moving up the walkway, his lipless mouth turned downward into a frown. First, to secure some shelter. Then, to find out where he had ended up. And, perhaps most importantly of all, how.
The man who answered the door was quickly as dead as the young woman unfortunate enough to witness his arrival. Then the dark wizard was summoning his followers, making his mark on their flesh burn, determined to get his answers one way or another. He didn't care how many bodies he had to pile up to do it, or who it was that might fall. He was in a city filled to bursting with Muggles, in the blink of an eye, without any explanation. Someone was going to pay.
