As much as Famine hated to leave a job half done, it was like serving the aperitif and leaving people without the main dish and the dessert, that was rude and highly unprofessional. However, the news of his two comrades falling made him realize he was next and immediately reconsider his options. He had a contingency plan ready on motion. Had it since he heard people were trying to stop them. It wasn’t because of fear, Famine didn’t fear, but rather the annoyance and the wasted time to become corporeal again. He had a business to run and a thrusting businessman couldn’t disappear for weeks. Famine had hired a stunt actor as a decoy and ensured his loyalty with a priced sum to save his parents from their debts. In the City of Angels, it was surprisingly easy to meet your evil or good twin walking on the streets. After this, he selected the best men on his service and had his decoy ordered them to follow them to leave the city. Raven Sable was called to a conference in Washington, what a better time to pack and evacuate?
The conglomeration that was heading to the airport was composed by twenty men riding jet black motorcycles that escorted a large, dark limousine with Doctor Sable. Each of them was slim and wore black clothes, touched by Famine’s decay already. And Famine? He had taken his real, shrunken form and was driving the vehicle. He looked like a severe case the doctor had treated and was left half-starved.
He adjusted his dark shades, glancing at the perfect mirror image of Sable smoking calmly in the backseat. He looked at the hour and calculated a sharp arrival when he whirled the car to slide inside the complex. The assortment stopped and parked in front of the airport. Famine opened the door and held it for “Sable” to descend. Soon, their private plane would take off and he would be able to continue with the original Plan with impunity. The beauty of his art was how discreet it could be. How nobody would notice they were famishing to death until it was far too late.
