Beneath naked feet the tundra of the woodland crunched. It tickled her arch and teased her exposed legs. Between her fingers she kept the hem of a gossamer white gown from dragging along the earth as she ran through the trees. Floating behind her like a cloud yards of fabric hung in the air. Towards the blinding light that cut throughout the trees she ran. The warmth radiated through her chilled body beckoning her to come. To leave the chill behind and embrace the light ahead. Blinding rays washed her already pale skin out with clean white light.
”Selene…”
Her name rumbled off the trees, shaking the leaves and stopping her as she loped towards the brightness just beyond the forest. Without the strong wind the layers of her dress no longer hovered in the air, her wings had fallen, pooling around her feet.
Where ya goin' darlin'? His dark voice was filled with humor as he approached her, yet each word was wrapped in a blanket of sorrow. Light surrounded him, making his deep eyes glow, reflecting off the freckles of gold and jade. As he got closer the temperature of his eyes changed. The sadness was heartbreaking. ”Don't...don't leave me...please.”
“Come with me.” She pleaded with a smile as she reached for his hand. Her smile was filled with innocence and charm, the splendor of the girl she was long before the Underworld claimed her. The light gentle wind that rustled the leaves tossed her gently rolling waves of hair around her face.
”Ain't my time yet.” The pain in his voice pierced her heart. Selene reached for him, finding that her hand just slipped through his beautiful face. "Come on, don't go that way." He looked fiercely at the blinding light that pulled her nearer. Shoulders that once held the world upon them, strong and true, slumped in defeat.
His words hung heavy in the thick air. Selene gazed over her shoulder at the source of the light. The tips of her fingers traced the lines of his face she could not physically touch. Closing her eyes she basked in the warmth at her back. Heaven was calling, yet with this angel, her angel, standing before her the light summoning her to leave the world seemed to pale in comparison. Tears rimmed her eyes, sparkling like gems in the oceanic waters; a smile flooded her features, a smile written by every happiness she felt when in Logan's presence. Like the breeze that ruffled her hair and the edges of her dress her voice was light as air. "For you, my love, heaven can wait."

The hazy dream faded away. As it did she felt warm, nestled in the soft folds of fabric that covered her bed. The smell was familiar and comforting. There was no pain, the savage hunger she had succumb to was gone. Timidly she opened her eyes, scared of what she might find when she opened them. Hoping that when she did Logan would be there to tell her this had all just been a bad dream. "Logan..." She called out softly as she sat up in her bed and looked around the room.
