The library had been Brennan’s first choice of location for a number of reasons, the main being she liked being in a place where knowledge was somewhat more acceptable, or at least acceptable in peace and quiet. Despite not liking the silence rule she did enjoy the lack of noise from time to time, this being of them. With recent events her mind was not as clear as she was used to, one thought led to another and another, which in the end wasn’t good. She was used to compartmentalizing them away.
Having a laptop back at the firehouse meant she didn’t have to come use the computer area in the building anymore so she had gone searching for something interesting to read instead, the lack of investigating made her feel useless so learning something new would make her feel that tiny bit better. Brennan soon found herself in the history section, absently flicking through an old book on the class and social structure of the Victorian era, she was only taking in little snippets to see if it interested her. Just as she was about to take the book elsewhere to read, preferably somewhere that had comfortable seating she finally noticed that someone else had been in that aisle and was..laughing?
He was an anthropological oddity. His clothing did not fit with the subculture for his age group, or so she thought and yet Temperance seemed to be irked by this strange man. She slowly closed the book she had been reading and wandered over, trying to look inconspicuous but she had never been good at not standing out. “What’s so funny about that?” Brennan asked before she could stop herself, she had managed to get close enough to take a quick peek at what he had been reading and she did not see what was so humorous about it at all. Needless to say she was intrigued.
