Joe didn't really understand what was happening, but the doctor wasn't the only one who was hurting from it. He hated the idea of pain the city practically spoke of it. If the walls could tell tales they'd be heart breaking. This fight hit close to home, and he didn't know how to deal with it other than get away. Give his brother the space he needed to cope and heal. He'd wanted to spend time with Nick, but all Nick could think about was Alex. Not that he blamed him, but still a small selfish part of him was hurt. The brothers had always been close, but now he felt like he was failing because he couldn't make things better. So now it was his turn for space.
Space that was probably advised against by Kevin and Lis if he'd asked. But he needed air so he snuck out anyway without so much as a word. He didn't want to be followed, so he'd said nothing. Told no one. People who wanted to be found were the sorts who left notes, left numbers where they could be reached. He'd turned off his phone. He was doing something just for him. Something he couldn't have possibly done back home in their time-but loved. He was standing in a music store hovering over records when the Doctor pulled out one of his all time favorites and he grinned. "Good choice. Classic. But not too ancient." Suddenly as he looked up, he had to do a double take. For a moment he just sort of stared, he hadn't been expecting to be found that quickly. The Doc really did look like his brother.
