It always took her a bit of time to set up the normal protective charms around Cian's room, not because she didn't know how, but because she needed to make sure she was doing them correctly. She'd yet to take the baby out of the building and she'd yet to leave the building without him or leave him alone, meaning she'd yet to leave the building entirely. Cabin fever had perhaps begun to set in. As much as she loved her son, she needed to see other people and the walls outside of her apartment. People had filtered in and out to visit, but she needed to do the visiting.
Dora glanced at herself in the mirror after finishing the charms. It was odd how quickly she'd fallen into synch with a male morph. She'd shifted easily just a few days after she and Remus had talked about it and it hadn't even occurred to her to change back until now, thinking about going out to see other people and needing them to actually recognize her. She didn't feel like being hexed on sight because someone thought she'd wandered in off the street.
Tucking her wand into her jeans, she headed for the apartment door, a feature she'd seldom used over the past few weeks. She looked back twice over her shoulder towards Cian's room before actually making it through the threshold, having to reassure herself that the charms would work and she would know the second he woke up so long as she stayed in the building. Not to mention Remus would be home within the hour. Dora painstakingly locked the door behind her, fishing into her pocket for a the small compact mirror she'd enchanted. When she flipped it open it gave her a clear view of Cian in his crib, still sleeping the way she'd left him.
"Merlin, I'm just going next door," Dora muttered. The low baritone of her new voice still made her jump. It took less than a minute for her to reach Sirius, Lily, and James' door and she was knocking very soon after that, looking for an answer from her cousin.
