As soon as the cab pulled up Cheryl all but jumped up from her position. Amazingly she didn't have much time as her daddy practically raced out of the vehicle, and went to scoop her up in his arms. Cheryl returned the affectionate gesture, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I'm sorry, Daddy," Cheryl whispered in his ear.
Alessa watched the two, and even though she knew that Cheryl and her would be reunited, she felt a great pang of jealousy tearing through her. It wasn't fair, Cheryl had her father, and someday perhaps Harry would stop ignoring Heather. What of Alessa though? What would happen when Cheryl became Alessa again? Would Harry treat her like a dead person? Would he mourn her "death", and then finally accept it? The ideas tearing through her mind were too much.
She started to sob uncontrollably.
"Daddy..." Cheryl looked at her older self, and then back at her father. "I'm sorry Daddy, please don't leave me when I go back, please?"
