Lana sat at what used to be Lex's desk, in what used to be his chair, staring down at what was supposed to be a symbol of his love for her. But that was gone. She wasn't in her world anymore, and the Lex that had been here was not her Lex, not even close. Not that it mattered now. He had gone missing and she had been given everything that once belonged to him. He had been gone for a while now, though she couldn't count the days. Everything seemed longer here. She worried about him, if he was okay, if he'd gone back to his world or if he was simply hiding somewhere in this one. When it came down to it though, she knew that wherever he was, it had to be safer than being here where everyone was attacking him.
Carefully, she pulled the ring from the place it had been for months, holding it between her fingers. As much as it felt like her heart was breaking, she couldn't pry her eyes away from that modest but beautiful diamond. She sniffed, trying to will herself not to cry. Eventually, she would put the ring in the drawer, but now...all she could do was stare.
