Later, she would never be able to pinpoint what exactly changed about the confrontation, only that as she looked at him, she got angrier. Not just mad, but more deeply furious than she'd ever remembered being before. It was different, that was all she would note later. Who did this guy think he was, stalking people, kidnapping people, labeling everyone a witch and threatening them? He was a big bully that was still on the playground and someone should take care of him now.
She nearly did, but it was only that she could feel Toby clutching her back that she made the decision to call the cab, as he still wasn't safe and she couldn't risk Jareth focusing on him, or worse, Toby getting kidnapped or hurt out of more spite.
She got Toby inside, only to realize Jareth had advanced on her. It only made her more furious. "You really don't know who you're messing with," she said, tossed him a disgusted look and slid inside the cab.
