Faith didn't look angry, or shocked. In fact she was feeling like a pretty crap friend for not noticing before.
"Heather.." she began before pausing and taking a moment to try to figure out what to say.
"I can't imagine what it must have been like for you, to go through something like that. The closest comparison I have is Angelus and.." she hesitated, not sure how much of the whole Angel/Angelus story Heather knew about and also uncomfortable talking about elements of her past. She took a breath before continuing.
"I think, maybe... maybe it's easier for people to deal with. For Sam to handle maybe. What happened to Kira, sure it's harsh or whatever, but it's also really simple. Age old story that's happened a thousand times before and will happen so many times again. Girl has boy, boy kisses other girl, girls get mad at each other. How Sam's supposed to react to that is really clear. Be the protective brother figure, nice and easy. But your evil doppleganger raping and hurting someone you love? No one's really written the rule book on how to deal with that."
She shrugged, awkwardly, before looking at Heather, wishing the other girl would actually look at her.
